- Having too many front liners. If you have more than 5 people on your first level, it will be difficult to work with them all effectively.
- Thinking that only sales is important. It's more important to find 5 distributors who can teach your business, rather than people with sales skills- although it's helpful. You want to help your front line people to learn how to present to their prospects. Once they have a front line, help those people learn the business. This technique really turns up the burners –long term-on enthusiasm levels in your group.
- Building your distributors or managers wide (ie-too many 1st level, front liners) and not deep. Since you can't work well with more than 5 people at one time, you'll find your managers will leave shortly after they come in, if you have lots of front liners who need you, but you're not available.
- Not having realistic expectations. Don't start counting how many months you've been in MLM until you've had your first serious training month of 5-10 hours a week.
- Being impatient and not understanding that you need to build a foundation before you see big rewards. Walk before you run. It takes going 4 levels deep to get a firm business base. This can take 6 months if you're serious. Creating the foundation is the most time consuming aspect of your business, then as you build, it takes less time and less effort to make things run.
- Not helping to train your downline. After you sponsor 5 serious people, your efforts will mostly be training. You can motivate a luke warm person by placing a serious person under him/her.
- Big presentation meetings can sometimes work for some people, but often they can work against you because your prospect thinks that in order to be successful with your business, they too, will have to get up in front of a lot of people and speak. Most people have a huge fear of this and would prefer a root canal. You'll be more successful with a one on one style meeting.
-Be serious about your business and stick with it for at least 90 days to really know if what you're doing is working or not.
-Making too many adjustments at one time: Only make one adjustment at a time: Change one thing at a time and see what happens. If you change more than one thing, then you will have no idea what the impact is on your business.
-Over half the people you sponsor will eventually fall away. However, the key to making and KEEPING any sale or keeping people excited about their business decision is to make it so that it is THEIR DECISION to take action, rather than YOUR coercing them into it. When a person fully accepts and takes OWNERSHIP an opportunity or a product, then it really becomes THEIR decision and choice. They are far less liable to back away or change their mind because they weren't sold, but rather they came to their own choice and decided that this was good for them.
I've researched the above points and utilized them in my Fortune Hi Tech Marketing business and it's really making a difference. It's easy to earn thousands of dollars per month in just a few months-part time and that's just the start. Check this opportunity out at: http://www.fhtm.net/OA/presentation01/company_overview.htm
