[A786]Australian Bush Flower Essences
by Michaela Scherr, Mic
He wasn’t like this several weeks ago, far from it, and so I decided to purchase a combination bottle of flower essences called ‘Confid’ Essence. This particular combination was taken over a two week period, twice per day and helped him deal with low self-esteem issues, guilt, and shyness. It’s almost like there’s a new kid in town.

So far there’s never been a time where I haven’t had great results whilst taking these essences. They’re not conventional medicine; rather their healing qualities are vibrational and work on the mind, body, and spirit concept.

With their unique vibrational qualities, flower essences have been used throughout the ages by many cultures for health and healing. They’re used to clear, and resolve emotional states and imbalances found within our system by taking drops under the tongue. I sometimes use them in combination with essential oils (aromatherapy) in my oil burner and sometimes even in the bath water.

Everything in the known Universe vibrates (quantum physics) even we have a unique vibrational rate, and so do flowers and other plant life.

I love flower essences because they’re safe to use not only for adults but also for animals and children. Of the many different essences I’ve tried over the years, the Australian Bush Flower Essences have been the most effective for me. I live in Australia and resonate at a very deep level with this country although my origins lie in Europe.

There are many wonderful and unique essences to choose from around the globe including, but not limited to, the following:

Flower (Bach, Alaskan, Australian Bush Flower, FES), Ancient Rainforest, Animal, Shell, Coral, Gem, Crystal, Angel, Goddess, EarthSpirit.

To locate a practitioner and/or supplier near you simply do an internet search for any of the words or phrases above and ending with ‘Essences’ (eg. Flower Essences, Animal Essences etc).

From personal experience the more often these essences are used the greater the benefits. However, if there’s no issue, there’s no reason for taking them. They’ll only work when an issue has presented itself.

Not only does my son take them on occasion but so has my daughter, particularly when she was entering her teenage years. The drops she was taking at the time were called ‘Adol’ Essence and helped her deal with issues of insensitivity, rebelliousness and a ‘not fair’ attitude, among other issues teenagers face as they move into a new phase of life. ‘Adol’ Essence was a great sanity-saver for her mother!

How do I or did I know they worked you might ask?

Because I know the behaviours of my children and their personalities I’ve been able to monitor any changes however subtle when they take these essences. What I notice and become aware of I write in a journal and compare the before and after.

Taking flower essences doesn’t mean ignoring conventional medicine. I use both where and when appropriate. The two can easily be used to complement each other.

I’m all for health and healing the mind, body and spirit without the use of drugs, particularly for my children. Flower essences are simply another avenue (of which there are many) along the path of healing.

Many folks have heard of the famous 'Rescue Remedy', a blend of flower essences designed to reduce the stress of the user in tense or traumatic situations - and this formula works wonders for many people. Beyond this remedy, popular knowledge of flower essences is somewhat limited. The scope of flower essence therapy is actually extremely wide, with remedies addressing a great variety of psychological, emotional and spiritual states. Here we'll have a look at flower essences addressing 'conditions' shared by many women - remedies that may help you become more comfortable with your feminine 'power' and help you truly shine within and without!

We'll start with a brief flower essence primer - what are they and how do they work? Flower essences are liquid preparations, usually with water and a little brandy, containing the energetic imprint of the flower. None of the original flower remains in the water, unlike tea. Instead, the water, which is a highly-imprintable substance where energy patterns are concerned, holds an etheric picture of the flower and stores it indefinitely. What does this mean for us? Well, as modern science is revealing, we are all made of energy - all matter is really distinct patterns of energy which our senses perceive as solid. Emotional and psychological states and conditions have an energy pattern too. It is these energy patterns on which a flower essence can have an effect. They are not so dense as matter; they are more fluid and mutable - usually maintained through our own habits or self-images. Flower essences infuse the vibrational pattern of a particular flower into this etheric emotional/psychological vibrational pattern of ours. Oftentimes, this can be the impetus needed for change, and essences have been shown to support healing from actual physical illness through a change in the mind (or heart) of the patient. That said, here's a few flower essences that may be of particular use in healing to women, allowing full and bright expression of the divine feminine principal within us all.

Alpine Lily flower essence can support the acceptance of one's femininity through a more vibrant relationship with the female body, helping overcome an overly abstract sense of femininity where one feels disembodied or alienated, perhaps seeing the female organs as 'lower'. Women in need of this essence tend to favor that which is more cosmic and virginal, and find it difficult to identify with the earthly aspect of the feminine. They have many spiritual attributes and actively use higher feminine forces, but do not integrate this consciousness with the physical body. Negative impressions of the female body are often unconsciously absorbed from the mother or from the larger culture. Because the soul does not fully identify with or inhabit the female body, physical stress and disharmony can result in the reproductive organs, in the sexual function, or in the biological experience of pregnancy and nursing. Alpine Lily stimulates the integration of the feminine and female selves, promoting circulation between the higher and lower energy centers. The soul learns that its full energy and potential depends of the utilization of the bodily female as well as the spiritual feminine.

Pomegranate flower essence - This fruit tree is native to Western Asia. The flowers are red, leathery and bisexual. Parts of the plant have been used to treat fevers, lymph challenges, leucorrhea, and throat problems. As a flower essence, it promotes warm-hearted feminine creativity, actively productive and nurturing at home or in the world. It can be used universally applied for nearly all emotional problems. Pomegranate is considered a 'love potion' for women, and if they are having challenges in accepting their femininity, Pomegranate helps them to overcome such insecurities. This essence creates a sense of nurturing or at the very least recognition of a need for nurturing within the individuals. Further, It can open and stimulates the sexual chakra, with the nadis of this chakra being invigorated. This flower essence naturally accentuates all aspects of a woman's femininity. Meditation and creative visualization can (and should) be readily be used with this essence. The Pomegranate flower essence supports the expression of warm hearted feminine creativity at home or in the world. It has been used as an important remedy for nearly all 'women's issues', clearing negative emotions. This clearing can have dramatic effects where health issues are involved, as we now know the emotional state is closely tied to physical health. Pomegranate is also used as an aphrodisiac for women, alleviating insecurity related to one's sexual self. This allows confident connection to the sexual chakra, allowing freedom of expression through this channel. Pomegranate is thought to accentuate all aspects of femininity; visualizing feminine confidence may be useful when taking the essence to reveal its full effect.

On to the flower essence of Hibiscus...Hibiscus can return warmth and responsiveness in female sexuality, integrating soul warmth with bodily passion. It helps alleviate the inability to connect with positive feminine sexual expression, often due to prior exploitation or abuse. The repression may also be a result of absorption of negative or commercialized stereotypes of female sexuality, which have the subliminal effect of degrading one's own strength in this area. Hibiscus essence helps women reclaim their sexuality and restore these soul forces with vitality and authenticity.

Beech flower essence can support tolerance, acceptance of others' differences and imperfections, seeing the good within each person and situation. It may allow release of criticalness, judgmental attitudes, intolerance, perfectionist expectations of others, and oversensitivity to one's social and physical environment. The Beech flower essence helps transform the tendency to be critical due to an inner sense of inferiority and hypersensitivity which is projected onto others. Very often such persons grew up in an environment of criticism and harsh expectation, and so they inwardly feel very vulnerable and insecure. However, they learn to cope by condemning others instead of healing themselves.

Sunflower flower essence can bring a balanced sense of individuality and a sun-radiant personality. Sunflower balances the Yin and Yang energies and attunes people to higher wisdom. Those who demonstrate anger or 'hostility' towards their father or other males in their life will benefit from Sunflower. It can support growth away from low self-esteem or arrogance, particularly related to a poor relation to one's father or distorted masculine aspect of the self. Sunflower essence allows the healthy self shines forth from the soul, not unlike the sun which radiates in the sky. Some people mask their true sun-nature with feelings of self-effacement and low self-esteem. This condition darkens the true luster of the Higher Self; in these instances the Sunflower flower essence brings to the soul the quality of light. Others want their brilliance to shine too strongly, glaring others with pompous self-glory and ego-aggrandizement. For these people, Sunflower flower essence brings out the quality of warmth, or loving compassion.

These essences are some of those often used by women for their healing, and there are many others available to 'fine tune' your flower essence therapy. Guides are available on the internet and in print to help you find other flower remedies that may support your particular condition. Flower essences are safe, and not contraindicated with any medical treatment, and may be an effective adjunct by healing one's emotions or psyche. This can support the most important component of natural health and wellness - the power of a positive mind and happy heart.
