[F481]Foods To Avoid Acne
by Murali V, Mur

It's very important to understand, acne works it's way to the skin surface from the inside, out. Acne is generally caused by an over production of sebum. This is the oily sweat that is mixed with bacteria, the body is trying to eliminate. When the sebum is mixed in with dead skin cells, then this clogs some of the skin's pores. This clogged build-up, will then become infected in some of the pores. The pimples are a reaction to the infected pores. This is acne. This is why simple washing of the acne area is not enough to cure the problem.

There is some truth in that old saying, "You are, what you eat". Quite often, one of the main culprits to the cause of acne, will originate with an improper diet. Let's face it, if you are not eating healthy; your skin can't be expected to be healthy. Added to this, if you are ingesting foods that trigger more sebum production, with more bacteria to be eliminated; then, you can expect to have more pimples to fight off.

By eating more natural foods, your body will begin to act in accordance. Our bodies are designed to breakdown the complex carbohydrates and fresh foods. When we eat fast foods, junk foods, processed foods; then our body's whole processing plant gets sluggish and out of sorts.

What we eat will directly effect the quality of our skin. By eating processed foods that are high in oils, fats, refined sugars, starches and chemical additives; this is certainly not a diet that will help reduce your acne outbreaks.

Eating a steady diet of junk foods has been shown to directly correlate to the acne condition. Most nutritional experts agree that, individuals who consume more organic foods into their diets, have less acne outbreaks.

Your skin is the largest of your body's organs. It requires the right nutrients in order to function correctly. Often times vitamin supplements can make a world of difference, in fighting acne.

Acne is not treated by one simple line of treatment. It is a combination of attacking it internally and externally. When you consider that your body is eliminating a lot of waste and toxins through your sebum, your sweat; then you have a better idea about what is added to the acne condition, when you eat the wrong foods.

When fresh vegetables and fruits are not an option, take a look at some of the canned, or frozen food varieties. Everything you need to know, is in the fine print on the package labeling. Many of the bottled fruit juices in the market, contain a vast assortment of chemicals and sweeteners. Corn syrup as a sweetener, will feed your acne breakouts.

If this requires a big lifestyle change, then consider what you might have to lose. Of course you can still eat your favorite foods and snacks. If your favorite foods are junk foods, this only means you will not be eating those "Twinkies" as often as you used too. Maintaining a healthier diet will make a large impact on your acne, reducing the outbreaks considerably.

I suffered from acne for a long time and for me it was not just a puberty thing, it tagged along into my adulthood. I started taking it way too seriously when it was holding me back in my career. If you are an acne sufferer and have suffered from it in your adult life than I do not need to explain how hard it becomes to simply ignore it. Imagine having to look in the space when speaking to people, not taking photos when you hang out with friends with a fear in your subconscious that you would look awful in those photos and it was all because of Acne. In this article I am going to explain that how to look for an acne treatment and most importantly how to take care of your skin because I learned that most of my skin problem was due to the fact that I was not taking care of my skin properly. I will also shed some light upon the impact that your diet and vitamins have on your skin disorder.
Some of the famous contemporary acne treatments include over the counter (OTC) acne treatment products, homemade remedies for acne and laser acne treatments. You are probably aware of a lot of OTC acne treatments. Skin specialists and dermatologists believe that among OTC acne treatments, products with benzoyl peroxide are the most effective acne treatment products, so what lead dermatologists to believe this?, Well, it is the fact that benzoyl peroxide is effective in controlling excess oil that clog the pores of your skin which in turn causes acne, benzoyl peroxide also fights the bacteria that causes acne. For a lenient skin condition an OTC acne treatment product with 2.5% concentration of bezoyl peroxide is good, though it shall also work for severe acne but would take a relatively longer time to show some progress. It is also a good idea to use an over the counter chemical exfoliant such as salicylic acid or glycolic acid to regularly remove dead skin cells by exfoliating. If you do not find benzoyl peroxide effective enough you can try other products that have sulfur or resorcinol.

It is not proven but many skin specialists believe that changes in diet usually impact the health and look of our skin and sure enough vitamins also play a vital role in our skin condition. So how would you know if your diet is making your acne worse or better? Now, this a trial and error situation, what you have to do is see if there is any correlation in your skin condition and your diet and if there is then you know what to do. The effectiveness of Vitamin A for our skin condition is well known, Vitamin A is an essential nutrient for our body and it also contributes to a healthy skin. Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin D also have a lot of significance in maintaining a healthy skin so what you want to do is keep a good balance of these Vitamins intake.

Sometime you want to avoid chemicals because they irritate your skin, in that case there are many homemade acne remedies that you can try, but it is always better to ask for your dermatologists opinion. One of the popular homemade acne treatment is the paste of cinnamon powder and honey that you can apply on effected area. Another such remedy is the paste of sandalwood and rose water which you have to apply on your skin for 20 ? 30 minutes and then wash it gently with warm water and an acne soap like Neutrogena Acne Soap etc. Using warm water and acne soap is a good choice in general for acne skin. There are plenty of homemade acne treatments that people use, if you want to go for a homemade acne treatment you can search it on the internet and you will be able to find a lot of treatments that people are using out there.
