Today, the majority of people rent movies regularly. Typically we will wait for the DVD rentals to hit the stores, as an alternative to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of the highest volume rentals in October.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) returns to action, after a 19 year hiatus. This is the fourth movie in the Indiana Jones movies. In this, the latest adventure, Mr. Jones battles the Soviets. This time everyone is searching for the Crystal Skulls, and the powers they might possess.
THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Ben Garvey, once a bad boy criminal, is a new man now. With a beauitiful wife and daughter, and steady paycheck, he has found happiness. Then, he is fired from work, and he turns to crime for the solution. People die during an attempted robbery, and he winds up on death row. Death by lethal injection awaits. To his surprise, he regains consciousness only to find himself in a psych ward. He now fights for his sanity, and his soul.
LINEWATCH: Mr. Michael Dixon is a well seasoned boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. But Michael's past is coming back to haunt him. He grew up in a violent Los Angeles gang, but he had the courage to leave. When an unfortunate meeting exposes his whereabouts to a member of his old gang, he and his family are in a potentially deadly situation. For the sake of his family, he will take a huge risk, and work with the gang to move illegal drugs into the country.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the tale of Dr. Bruce Banner, who, because of a gamma ray experiment gone bad, as been changed into the Incredible Hulk. This film tells of the marvel universe comic super hero the green Hulk. Stars include Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liv Tyler. Louis Leterrier directed this movie. The film genre is sci-fi/action.
DECEPTION: Jonathan McQuarry (ewan mcgregor) has a surprise meeting with big time corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. This is an event that turns his life upside down. He is introduced to "The List", where people find a decadent sexual extasy. However, he is driven into a scene full of deceipt, underhandidness and death.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a mission to discover what happened to his missing brother, science professor Trevor Anderson travels to Iceland that sends him into the depths of our planet. This is a newer edition of the 1959 film, that was created from the brilliant book by celbrated writer Jules Verne. Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers star in this adventure film.
THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberb), with his wife and many other frightened people are leaving Philadelphia by train. The northeastern U.S. has been thrown into chaos. People have been afflicted by some strange illness, and are killing themselves. Can we find an answer, or is this the end of man?
IRON MAN: Super stud, engineering expert, Tony Stark is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanastan. They demand him to build weapons for the insurgent group. He was injured while he was being captured, and he has shrapnel lodged in his chest. To overcome his wound, and escape his captors, he develops a suit of armor, that makes him super strong. Iron Man, a new super hero has arrived.
SPEED RACER: A cartoon from the 90's gets real actors. Much like the movie The Flinstones, Speed Racer was a TV cartoon that was turned into a movie with real actors. Speed Racer is an ambitious young man who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a big race that had cost his brother his life. With odds against him, and everything at risk, he suprisingly teams up with his former adversary Racer X, so he can win, and keep his families racing business alive.
