Affordable and bathroom vanities are usually not two words that can be used in the same sentence. Shopping at a store, you can easily spend over $1,000 on just the vanity and top. Finding anything from bathroom vanities to kitchen cabinets is not only easy, but it is far cheaper to buy online. By cutting out the overhead associated with retail space, you can literally save hundreds of dollars. Not to mention they deliver it right to your door. Finding these items online is even easier when you expedite your search by using key words. One word or phrase that I found that completely saved me thousands of dollars (I literally saved $2355 on my kitchen and bathroom vanities) is the phrase RTA cabinet. Or more specifically RTA bathroom vanity; was the phrase that really jump started my search.

A few things I learned that ended up saving me money on my bathroom vanity. First, RTA bathroom vanities are the way to improve you house without spending the extra money for assembled products. Luckily I knew what RTA was, but for those who do not, RTA means ?ready to assemble?. Ready to assemble products are everywhere. Unless you have custom cabinets in your house, then odds are you have a builders grade version of them. Why buy an assembled product, when you can buy an unassembled or RTA product at about thirty percent (30%) less the cost? You might say what I originally said -- I am not sure I can assemble these cabinets or RTA products. No worries, new RTA kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities are easier than ever to assemble. These products can be assembled with a flat head screw driver and simple instructions. An electric or cordless drill will speed up the process, but it is not needed. The basic shell of the RTA bathroom vanity goes together quickly, it is basically four pieces. Anyone can assemble four sides and a bottom.

The next thing I was concerned about was the quality. After shopping at the local super store (Home Depot) I realized that the quality of the RTA bathroom vanities were actually a much better product. The retail stores I visited sold RTA products or even assembled products that used particle board. Try to avoid particle board, it gets wet and expands or it takes on moisture and does the same. Remember to buy RTA products that used solid wood fronts and paneled wood sides. Especially in the kitchen, it might look like a good cabinet, but if they are using particle board or ?engineered wood? just simply avoid it.

Next was the price and I found that the price of the online RTA bathroom vanities was over thirty percent less than the Home Depot? I was skeptical, so I did some more research and found out that these big box retail stores like Lowe's or Home Depot actually do not have good prices on bathroom vanities or kitchen cabinets. The stores over price these items and consumers do not realize it. Especially the kitchen cabinets; so I kept this in mind when I re-did my kitchen and as of now, I am completely happy with the RTA bathroom vanity and RTA kitchen cabinets that I found online.
