If you are designing a Halloween party for adults, you will want to have some fully grown Halloween games on hand. It is all part of the fun.
Some capital adult Halloween games include:
About the Town - This is a scavenger hunt. All you need to do is produce a list of Halloween-related items, offer out the list to each team, and post them on their way to garner the items. Some great targets to put on the list include:
A Hangman's noose A black veil An obit
You get the idea. Just include items that make to do with being scared, ghosts, Halloween, or whatever.
You might try a mutation on the hunt, too. One distinguished one is to make the hunt a video scavenger hunt. Each squad goes off with video camera in hand (or cell phone with a camera or whatever) and shoots the items rather than actually bringing the items back with them. This is really cool because you can make the list of items include really big stuff and potentially chilling things like gravestones. For a further variation, you can let the list be solely things like: Superman, a clown, a buccaneer, a faerie princess, a wolfman, a vampire, and so on. That would mean the adult Halloween games would admit the youngsters via taking video of trick-or-treaters who are all dressed up.
Halloween Fortune Telling - In this game, your guests put their knowledge of one another to the test and get to know each other better.
Merely hand out slips of paper and a pencil to each guest. Each person then selects a person at the party (maybe even himself or herself), but doesn't tell anyone who it is. Then, everyone write a "fortune" for that person, folds it, and puts it into the fishbowl. You can let everyone write one or many; that's up to you.
Then, each guest pulls out a slip of paper and reads the fortune. He then attempts to guess which person wrote the fortune and which person the fortune is about.
Some examples of fortunes might be:
"This person will get caught doing something illegal and pass the nighttime in jail." "This person will wed someone from a foreign land." "This person will cease his job and purchase a Corvette once he turns fifty." "This person will adopt a child." "This person will become Chairperson of the PTA."
You get the idea. Each person who accurately guesses wins a small prize, and this game is a delightful way to get conversations initiated at your Halloween bash.
A really cool variance of this game is to have each guest put their name on a piece of paper and drop into the bowl. Then have each guest draw a name from the bowl and have the one who drew the name make up a chilling story about the name drawn. Then have the other invitee guess who the scary story is about.
As you can picture adult games can be a lot of fun and the types of games can be endless. It just takes a minuscule preparation to come up with adult Halloween games.
While children are the ones who have a blast in Halloween, adults too are not left behind. As a matter of fact, Halloween is not just for children; it is also for adults! When planning Halloween games, you should plan games not only for children but also for yourself. No one said adults cannot play Halloween games, right? In this article I will tell you about two such specialized adult games that I am sure you will enjoy!
1. Pumpkin carving: Time was when there couldn't be a Halloween without pumpkin carving. However this custom has taken a backseat as people have realized that carving a pumpkin is not a good idea as the jack-o-lanterns made out of them don't last long! Pumpkin carving is now replaced with pumpkin decorating as that way that jack-o-lanterns become more durable.
However, I still believe that there is nothing like pumpkin carving. Nothing can beat the singular experience of seeing a lighted candle sitting inside a carved pumpkin!
Now it is not hard to find the carving tools; you should be able to find all of the carving tools from your local crafts store!
You can pick up the winner on any criteria you want. I usually prefer to select someone who has made the scariest or funniest looking jack-o-lantern, but you can also pick up someone who has been able to finish the job first!
2. Photo Scavenger Hunt Game: This one is really cool and easy to do. To play this game, first break your guests into several smaller groups. To each group, assign the task of finding an item. Now you can assign all of them to find the same item but I would recommend that the items be unique to each group; after all, you don't want the groups to stumble upon one another in the process of searching, right?
After each group finds the item they are supposed to, they should get someone to snap their picture with the item. Make sure that you tell your guests to use a digital camera for this purpose, so that the pictures can be judged without much difficulty. If any group has even one person missing, the entire group gets penalized for that.
As you can see, this is really cool, but this is of course not the end of the game. You, as the host of the party, are now responsible for selecting the winner: you can select the group which has got the coolest item, or the one which has had the coolest picture snapped!
There are many more games like these but I have picked up my favorite two! Make sure you don't forget to include them in your list the next tine you plan Halloween games!
