[H10]Hair Extensions How To
by Dave, Dav
Growing your hair to its desired length is not as easy as it seems, since it takes about eight weeks just to grow an inch of hair. The good news is, there is a solution, and it comes in the form of hair extensions. During those times when you have just had a bad haircut and growing back your hair takes an awfully long time, hair extensions can truly prove to be god sent. With a great variety of styles, colors and textures, there will always be a hair extension type that will suit your style perfectly.

You may want to look trendy by following the latest hair styles. Again, when the next trend appears, you should be ready to fit in by cutting your hair. Hair extensions will make all those transitions seamless and hassle-free. So, no matter what the next trend in hairstyle is, you will be one step ahead. Hair extensions assure you great looking locks that will merge perfectly with your natural hair.

Hair extensions first made their mark in the 1980s. However, they were not very well-received, and they were dismissed by media and fashion critics as a fad. But the mindset swung as soon as hot celebrities began endorsing them. Fashion supermodel Tyra Banks and pop diva Jessica Simpson are few of the celebrities who are raving over hair extensions. Even Posh Spice Victoria Beckam has joined the bandwagon of celebrities who are endorsing hair extensions. Another one of their great features is that they are available in a wide range of prices to suit every kind of budget.

Hair extensions have particularly caught on with the young adults. The sheer range of colors, lengths, and varieties has further added to their appeal. With hair extensions, you can wear a long hair for a night-out and take it off the very next day when you are dressing up for a corporate meeting. This is the kind of flexibility that hair extensions bring to hair styling, and it is exactly why their popularity is soaring.

The price of hair extensions is determined by their quality and type, as well as the method that is used to apply them. Synthetic hair is inexpensive whereas raw or virgin (untreated) human hair can be quite pricey. A few examples of the most sought-after hair extension types are Clip-on hair extensions which cost between $19.50 to $269 per kit; Hot Fusion or Bonding, a method that hot-glues the hair extension to your natural hair and carries a price tag of approximately $300; Cold Fusion, which is similar to Hot Fusion but uses the latest technology which is apparently gentler on the hair, and it costs about $2000; and the Weave method which braids the extensions into the natural hair. A few other coveted hair extensions include the D'Vine Lengths, Donna Bella hair extensions, Great Lengths hair extensions, Invisible Hair extensions, Unique VIP Rinex hair extensions, Cinderella hair extensions, Ultratress hair extensions, Mega hair extensions, Ultra Strands hair extensions, Racoon hair extensions, Micro-cylinder hair extensions, Microchet hair extensions, and Invisible Strands.

It is recommended that you get your hair extensions applied by trained and qualified hair-stylists, as applying and removing various forms of hair extensions is a professional job. When applied in the right way, hair extensions will accentuate your appearance, and it will not damage your hair.

Hair Extensions way to get longer and fuller hair. There are many different types of Hair Extensions on the market, but for the sake of simplicity we will focus on two main types of application methods: Individual Strands and Wefts. Individual method involves taking small amounts of extension hair (natural or synthetic ) and applying to small sections of your own hair by either weaving in, heat fusing, gluing, clamping with metal rods or using waxes and polymers. These extensions usually only last a few months before they have to be taken out and completely re-done. The main problem with this method is taking the Hair Extensions out without damaging your own hair. Hair extensions have been around forever, but recently there has been technological advancement in the industry and modern day hair extensions are becoming readily available and even affordable. Hair extensions can be done with either human hair or synthetic hair. Small strands of the human or synthetic hair are attached to your natural hair, creating a thick natural long flowing hair style.

Hair extensions can be done with either human hair or synthetic hair. Some people love man-made hair for its disposability, and some hate the thought of wearing real human hair extensions. Good-quality synthetic hair extension should be light and airy. The strands of hair should separate in the wind as does natural hair. It should have a natural "flat" shine. Many people prefer natural human hair extensions as they are wary of handmade synthetic hair or fear it may end up looking not as good as the real thing, Although fake hair is unbelievably good, at the end of the day it is hard to do better then the real thing. There are several grades of quality in real hair and many different methods to attach the hair to your existing hair. Other popular uses are for hair thinning or even hair loss situations. There are some methods of hair extensions that can actually help improve the condition of your natural hair as it grows out. A heated clamp melts the solution sealing the extension around the hair. This is known as "heat sealing.

Human hair grows approximately 1 cm per month on average. The extensions hair most likely has gone through some type of de-colorization process and then re-colored to get it the to color that it is now. There are hundreds of methods used to apply hair extensions and just as many types of hair. The most popular system out now is the strand by strand method made by companies such as Great Lengths, Hair Dreams and SoCap. These extensions are attached to your hair with polymer bonds near the root in small sections. Hair Dreams and SoCap both use a heated tool to soften their bonds so they can be rolled around the hair sections forming a round seal. Great Lengths offers Cold Fusion; which uses a special tool to create an ultra sonic vibration to soften the bond. The bond is then is folded around the sections making the individual sealed bonds small, smooth and flat. Most extensions, if applied properly, will last up to four months. After this the special glue-like bond attached to your natural hair will begin to loosen and fall off.
