[G311]Glow In Dark Clothes
by Tiffany Hart, Tif
Is any woman ever thin enough? I certainly am not. In the struggle to look that little bit thinner, I never exceed. Fortunately, I have learned how to hide those extra pounds through strategically putting an outfit together.
The trick to dressing thinner is to focus on proportions. If you properly dress for yours, you can enhance your better parts while limiting the impact of the areas you are unhappy with. Here are some guidelines.
Okay, the simple stuff should be covered early. To look thinner, we want to use dark colors. Tops and bottoms should be the same dark color, but can be different shades. We also want clean vertical lines wherever possible.
To best use colors, it is important to understand why they are important. Dark colors tend to deemphasize an area. I have larger thighs, so wearing black slacks helps me create a smoother look and use accessories to move the eyes elsewhere.
Color is your friend when it comes to dressing for a thinner look. Black and dark blue will not attract attention, but what about for you assets? A solid strong color like red and plenty of accessories will bring the focus to those areas.
Do not forget to consider the way undergarments can make a difference. Bras come in many different styles with each creating a particular look. Use them to your advantage. The same goes for small pads in your shoulders.
The very material you wear can also play a role in looking thinner. As you can probably imagine, thin and sheer is the way to go if possible. Bulky cottons look, well, bulky and do nothing to emphasize the thinner you.
A common mistake many women make is to wear tighter clothes. This does not make you look thinner. If anything, it can enhance your negatives. A clean cut that allows cloth to move seamlessly over a trouble area is a much better look.
Clean cut clothes will definitely make you look thinner, but do not mistake this for a suggestion that you should wear baggy outfits. You want something that emphasizes your curves, but does not hide them.
A single color outfit can be bland, so what about prints. Well, it is a catch 22. If you wear prints, the vertical nature of your outfit will be out the door and so will the thinner look. In most situations, you are going to have to choose one look or the other.
If you must wear prints, try to go with looks that have smaller designs. Also, wear them only over your positive areas. Keep negative areas in a dark color. This will effectively move the emphasis to your better assets, enhancing your look.
To get that thinner look, just remember the basics when putting together you outfit. Darker clothing with vertical lines does the trick in most cases. Use accessories to move the focus around and you should be good to go.
