There are a lot of women in Charlotte who want to start going to the gym but are too intimidated. They let day after day pass with thoughts of going, but that may be as far as they get. If your current physical condition is really what is keeping you from starting out a fitness routine at a gym, consider starting your fitness regimen outside of the gym. There are so many activities that you can do that dont require special equipment or a membership. Walking, riding a bike, or any other kind of physical activity can be done. If you feel most comfortable at home, but dont want to fork out the money for a home gym, head to a resale store or consignment store. They often have perfectly good equipment at really good prices. This is often a good idea if you arent sure what kind of equipment you prefer. While some people love their treadmills, others prefer the stationary bicycles. You dont want to spend hundreds of dollars on machines only to find out that they really are not suitable for you.

When the time comes that you feel you are ready for a gym, be sure to choose one that is most appropriate for you. If you are not comfortable around working out with men, see if you can find a place that caters to women only. If no such place is near you, many facilities host classes and designated women only work out times. When you first go to the gym, if you are still a bit hesitant avoid peak hours. Different gyms are busy at different times, so all youll need to do is call to find out what your particular gyms crowd flow is like. Many times it is the morning that is the slowest, so if you happen to be a morning person, you may have luck in finding the right Charlotte gym at the right time of day for you.
