[G428]Gotta Find Peace Of Mind Lauryn Hill
by Mark Webb, Mar
Anger is a common emotion but it can be difficult to deal with. Quite often we have not been taught how to deal with our anger. We may have been shown how to deal with anger and it is usually shown in appropriate ways. We may have heard that it is not good to be angry.

We often grow up believing various misconceptions about anger, such as:

a. Nice people do not get angry.
b. We might lose control or go crazy if we share our anger.
c. If someone gets angry with us, we must have done something wrong.
d. People will not love us anymore if we get angry.
e. It is okay to get angry if we can justify our feelings.

These misconceptions do not work for us in our day-to-day relationships.

So, what do we do with our built up anger? Well, we tend to do one of two things with it. Either we hold on to it or we act it out in inappropriate ways. By holding on to our anger, we eventually struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and /or physical kinds of problems such as headaches or ulcers. If we explode with our anger, we may say or do things we eventually come to regret. Neither of these approaches will work for us.

First, we need to be aware of a few ideas about anger. We have a right to feel angry. Other people also have a right to feel angry. But we need to deal with our anger in appropriate ways. Dealing with our stored anger may take time and effort. Learning to appropriately express our anger takes patience.

Here are some ideas on how to deal with anger:

1.Allow yourself and others to feel angry.
2.Acknowledge your thoughts associated with your anger.
3.Look for patterns in which anger usually occurs.
4.Identify areas where you need change.
5.Practice talking openly and honestly about anger without acting on it.
6.Take responsibility for your anger. Other people are not in charge of your feelings.
7.Use physical outlets such as playing ball or yard work to release some emotional energy.
8.Write a letter to the person with whom you are angry, but do not mail it. This helps to deal with anger without anyone ever knowing.

As we begin to deal appropriately with our anger, we need to be easy with ourselves. This is especially true if we have been holding onto our anger for a long time. Do not overly focus on anger or look for reasons to become angry. Remember to be patient and to allow some mistakes, because this is how we learn.

Our anger is okay to express when we need to.

Whether you want to admit it or not, finding peace of mind often goes hand in hand with obtaining a certain level of wealth. Although it isn't necessary to be a millionaire in order to achieve peace of mind, having the financial freedom to live the lifestyle you desire will free you from monetary concerns. As a result, you will experience far less stress in your life and peace of mind will soon follow.

No amount of formal training will ever help you achieve peace of mind. Rather, you must work toward achieving these nine basic characteristics:

1. Don't blaming others for what happens to you. Far too many people blame others for the negative things that happen in their lives. If their car breaks down, they place the blame on the manufacturer rather than admitting that they failed to properly care for the car. If their life does not turn out the way they had hoped, it is because of the actions of others. What these people fail to realize that there is one common denominator in this scenario: themselves. If you are feeling as if “Nothing works” in your life, take a look at what you can do to change it rather than blaming others.

2. Take quick and decisive action. There is no time to sit around and think about what you should do next in your life. When a decision needs to be made, you must make it quickly and stick with the decision you made. If you falter, those around you will falter as well. Move forward with confidence, no matter what decision you have made,

3. Trust your gut or intuition. When it comes to making your decisions, listen to your gut or intuition. In most cases, your intuition will not steer you wrong.

4. Focus on just one thing. People that fail to find success are scattered and have failed to find a focus. Set your sights on one goal and put all of your energy toward reaching it. Once achieved, you can begin focusing on a new goal.

5. Always market yourself. Whether in a business situation or a social situation, always be friendly and present yourself in a positive manner to all people you meet. You never know who just might be able to help you achieve the peace of mind you seek.

6. Continually work toward educating yourself. Getting an education doesn't necessarily require formal training, although training from a coach, mentor, or other educator can be beneficial. At the same time, remember that life itself is filled with lessons. Watch those around you and learn from their mistakes as well as their successes.

7. Push away fear. As you work toward achieving peace of mind and achieving wealth, you cannot be afraid to make mistakes. Set goals and make changes to them as necessary. If you do make a mistake along the way, look at it as a form of feedback that will help you fix something in your life. Remember, failure is sometimes the only way to really learn.

8. Don't reinvent the wheel. If those around you have built successful business models or have achieved peace of mind by acquiring wealth, model yourself after them.

9. Create a team of supporters. Never forget the importance of having a team of supporters motivating as you work toward your goals. In addition, the brainpower achieved when you work with a team is substantial. Remember, one plus one doesn't equal two when it comes to working with others – it is equal to eleven.

By working toward achieving these nine basic characteristics, you will soon discover the financial freedom you have always dreamed of. As a result, you will soon experience peace of mind and be free to live the life of your choosing.
