[H6]Hair And Skin Tips
by Christine Kulle-Merlesena, Chr
twice a day.

The great news about your skin is it is constantly regenerates itself.

How does the skin regenerate itself, you ask?

The two most important layers of the skin effected in this regeneration process are the epidermis(the top layer of

the skin) and the dermis(the second layer of the skin under the epidermis).

First, the epidermis slow the rate of moisture loss from the lower layer. The epidermis contains the pigment-producing

cells that give skin its color and can contribute to an uneven skin tone. In a continual four-week cycle, living cells

move from the epidermis to the surface of the skin.

The dermis is the inner layer of the skin. It's composed of collagen and elastin fibers that support the vital components

of the skin. When this layer is hydrated, the skin looks younger and more supple.

In order to maintain smooth, beautiful skin, you must perform five essential steps twice a day. It will take you less

than three minutes to complete your skin care routine each morning and evening.

Step 1: You must cleanse to remove makeup and impurities.

Step 2: You must exfoliate to remove the dead surface cells that dull the skin.

Step 3: You must freshen to tone the skin and refine pores.

Step 4: You must moisturize to hydrate for soft, smooth skin.

Step 5: You must protect the skin from the Sun and other environmental damage.

As you can see, by performing these 5 easy steps twice a day, your skin will look healthy, vibrant and Ageless!

It is not surprising that one of the largest markets in the world of health and beauty is anti-aging skin care products; as our lifespan increases so does our desire to remain active as well as look young and healthy. Skin is important so a great deal of effort goes into the preparation of beauty products especially those that increase the production of collagen, which is the primary protein in skin; twenty-five per cent of the skin's protein is collagen. Collagen is related to other anti-aging substances found in the body and other substances; we call them antioxidants, they aid the repair of cell damage associated with cell damage.

One of the best known anti-oxidants is vitamin C and despite continual research, no-one body involved can decide just exactly how much our body should consume on a daily basis. The main problem when using any skin care treatments which use vitamin C is that oxidization can occur as soon as they have contact with the air.

More stable skin care treatments are now available that are almost as efficient and actually cost less to manufacture. These alternative products are not as effective as vitamin C but vitamin E and lipoic acid are anti-oxidants and are now being used.

The body uses vitamin E as an antioxidant and is also used to increase the natural defense we have against disease, including many types of cancer, it is a fat soluble vitamin in people's blood. Lipoic acid is also an energy making component of the body, found in every cell, it can also help reduce the aging process which affects the skin.

Other compounds called phytochemicals have proved to be beneficial in the formulation of anti-aging skin care products; they are removed from various plants. A further benefit of these phytochemicals is their ability to prevent the onset of breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer all of which are on the increase globally.

It has also been discovered that there are anti-aging benefits to vitamins B5, B6 and B12. This is a vast area that has the potential for many new anti-aging skin care products and services in the future but research needs to continue.

In time new discoveries will be made advancing our understanding of the aging process and products that can reduce or reverse the effects more successfully. With the research that is now taking place, many people are confident that in time, more effective, cheaper anti-aging skin care products will be discovered.

In some respects the real way ahead lies in our own hands as there are many things we can do to reduce the signs of aging naturally. You know all these things but how many do you practice? Regular exercise, restful sleep, drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy diet and keeping your stress levels low are all necessary.
