[H1572]How To Save A Wet Phone
by Jim Corkern, Jim
There are so many individuals out there that use laptops on a daily basis. School students and mothers that work at home need the easy maneuverability of the laptop. A mom with a hectic life can move them from room to room when she is on the go and students like to make use of them at school as well as wherever else they go. You are subject to find a need for them anywhere you might end up. Wireless internet connections have become more commonplace and the amount of places that they might be carried to is becoming more widespread.

With all the flexible capabilities that you can enjoy with a laptop, there can be the chance of losing it, someone taking it, or having damage done to it. Laptops are like cell phones, theft, loss, or damage through your own fault will not likely be covered under your warranty. Water accidents are a major thing that gets done to a laptop more commonly than you may think. The odds of some liquid being spilled onto your keypad and seeping inside it to the circuit board, is less avoidable than to the tower of a desk top computer.

If this incident happens and the laptop becomes harmed by water or some other solution, do not get excited yet. It is reasonable that you may because of the horror of destroying the laptop itself, but losing all the stored information it holds inside that may be impossible to recover. The first thing to do is to get the laptop off immediately. Unplug it carefully. Place it upside down to let out as much liquid as will come out. Take the battery out and dry it thoroughly with a cloth.

Next, carefully disengage the screw that holds the unit together. With an absorbent, lint free cloth, easily tap away the dampness. Then do not attempt to turn it on for a full 24 hours or more. Be positive it is thoroughly dry before you reassemble the device and try it out. When you replace the screws make sure you do not miss any.

Remember, this procedure is just if your laptop is wet by water. If it was soda or any kind of sticky or acidic liquid, you should still dislodge and get out the battery pack. Even though you might clean the circuitry with alcohol, you could damage the laptop further and it might be better repaired by a skilled computer specialist.
