[H1214]How To Get Tv Channels
by David Towdon, Dav
Acquiring satellite TV online has never been easier. If everything else is satellite TV ready, all you basically need to do is to download software from the World Wide Web, choose a channel to watch and enjoy the show. Most satellite TV online companies are offering their subscribers 3,000 channels to choose from. That's almost as much as channels as most cable networks could offer. However, unlike most cable subscriptions, you do not need to have a satellite disk installed within your immediate vicinity, or cables installed all over your house, or even have the cable guy come over your house just to install the software applications.

You can basically do all the heavy lifting by yourself. If you can actually considering downloading and installing software applications as heavy lifting. The main hardware you really need is just a computer: a PC or a laptop will work just fine.

Also, due to the sheer number of satellite TV online companies who are trying to lure in larger volumes of first time customers, most satellite TV subscriptions are becoming more and more affordable. At the same time, services are spiking to the great benefit of online subscribers. If you are extremely lucky, you may even come across a satellite TV company offering bonus application packages as well as additional channels as part of its promotional gimmicks. In other words, subscribing to a company offering satellite TV online services is by far, the easiest way for anyone to have access to 3,000 channels.

If you really want to have access to such service, you could try finding a service provider that you would want to check over. Aside from the price range, you also need to check out what channels they may afford you. Like cable network subscriptions, some channels are available in one company, while others are not. More importantly, you need to verify that the satellite TV online service provider is a duly authorized reseller or not.

Admittedly, there are pirated software floating about the World Wide Web, and some of them can even be downloaded for free. But these are almost always plagued with installation and operational issues with no technical team to grant you backup services. Let's just say that these fly-by-night companies are not worth the headache you will undergo once you have downloaded and installed their software.

It should be pointed out here that you should at least have your hardware spruced up to meet the specifications of satellite TV viewing. Your CPU should at least be of Pentium 3 caliber with a hard drive that can actually handle continuous live video streaming. The minimum processing speed should be 333 MHz or more. You would also need a sound card and speakers (or earphones); a video card; and a Windows based operating system. Obviously enough, this set-up entails an Internet connection. Wi-Fi should do well, but so can satellite based Internet access.

Have you ever had one of those days when your boss yelled at you for no reason at all, your mother in law called up and your kid brother got busted for overdoing the speed limit? At the end of the day all you want to do is put your feet and rest your head awhile before you turn n the TV in the express hope that you might not have to mull over your own problems if you could just escape into the comforting realms of the TV world.

So with all those great intentions in mind you turn on the TV and you finally find out that your fabulous day isn't over yet. All you had to do is switch on the TV and you find that instead of a good movie your TV screen is spewing out static and noise, a result of the storm that was brewing in the night.

It's at times like this that you begin to seriously contemplate suicide. Have no fear, free to air is here. What exactly is free to air and how do you intend to get it? Well free to air is basically a technology that allows you to access the world's leading TV channels for free without having to pay for anything except the receiver set and the free to air paraphernalia that is a one time investment that usually does not exceed 50 dollars.

I'm sure that by now you want to know more about the FTA receiver and how you can get one. All in good time my friend. Let's take one thing at a time.

A free to air receiver is something like a radio set. By tuning a radio either electronically or manually to the right frequency you can listen to the best radio stations that are available. You don't have to pay for the radio channels and all you need to do is buy a radio.

Similarly the free to air receiver functions in much the same way. The free to air receiver is basically a satellite transmissions receiver that is programmed to receive all the unencrypted or unscrambled free to air satellite transmissions. It is usually able to decode the MPEG-2 compression protocol.

However one limitation that a free to air satellite receiver suffers from is that there are certain brands that are unable to decode the satellite transmissions of the Dish network and the DirecTV Satellite programming. To ensure that you don't end up with a receiver of this kind always go in for the Viewsat or Coolsat receiver.

Usually a FTA receiver looks like a Dish Network or DirecTV receiver. Usually they can only be used with a TV set and not with a computer. Some versions do exist that can be used which are usually compatible only with a computer but such sets are only useful when you don't have a TV set.

Whatever you decide Viewsat and Coolsat are the bets options and you should for either one of them. They offer the most features and back up support at the right prices.
