"We've seen how you can gain weight with eating fast food, but what about the other end of the spectrum? Can you lose weight with fast food? Yes: We think of choices in terms of the major ones: what job should I take? Who should I marry? Each choice we make moves us down one road or another. It's the little choices we make day in and day out that dictate the kind of life we live and ultimately, the kind of health we enjoy. Food is vital for life to make energy. If your body were a temple, you would not put poisons or anything toxic in it. You would think carefully and choose with tremendous diligence what you put into it. Your body is given to you so that you can make careful choices about what you put into it. You really are what you eat. Your mid section can be a lean cut of beef or a doughy roll. Your but can be shaped like an onion or a bunion. What you ingest has an impact that can add or subtract years to your life. Fortunately, you have the power to pick and choose what foods will fuel your body.
Eating healthy doesn't mean you should deprive yourself of fast foods. Just look at all the healthy choices before you whenever you eat on the run. Even McDonalds has salads that you can order with LOW FAT dressing. The fast food rule to fast weight loss is to order grilled foods and hold the mayonnaise. You can do this at any fast food outlet.
Now even the grocery stores have plenty of fast food options. They offer fresh salads, both fruit and vegetables. Or you can buy cooked lean sliced roast beef, or turkey and ask them to pack it in 4 oz servings. This takes away the work of having to portion your meat. Pair that with a crunchy fresh salad and low cal dressing and you have a meal. If you have a craving for a potato, puncture a couple of holes in your potato and place it in your microwave for 5 minutes. This is quick and economical. Just remember to stay away from the butter and sour cream. If you absolutely must have butter or sour cream, make sure you get low fat, read the label and stick to the portion size. Thinking about each food choice will fine-tune your awareness and give you the healthy rewards you desire."
Here's a delicious recipe for you to try that helped me lose over 60 pounds.
Guilt free French fries.
Heat oven to 450 Cut potatoes lengthwise Place on cookie sheet coated with non fat cooking spray Spray potatoes 2X with non fat spray Cook for 15 - 20 minutes on each side. These are really crisp and great with ketchup!
The other part to getting the weight off is through exercise. If you've looked in the mirror and shrieked, Oh no, I don't want anyone to see me in shorts, but want to look hot for swimsuit season or that cruise you've had your eye on; try a DVD in the comfort of your own home or even a few DVD's so you don't get bored. One pound of fat is a whopping 3500 calories. You need to burn off 3500 through exercise and eating low calories food choices to burn 1 pound of fat. It's definately worth it. Dr. Oz stated on Oprah, "you can live 20 more years just by eating right and exercising." So get going and enjoy this spring and summer.
Gone are the days when fast food meant fat-filled food. As we, the consumers, have become more health conscious, fast food chains have responded by adding healthier alternatives to their menus. So you can add fast foods to your diet without necessarily running the risk of putting on lots of weight. If you don't feel like cooking sometimes or just don't have the time and need something quickly, you can go to a fast food restaurant without feeling guilty.
The movie "Super Size Me" might have put some people right off going to places like McDonalds. For those of you who aren't familiar with the movie, the guy in it ate nothing but three McDonalds' combo meals a day. This is about three times as many calories as the average person requires each day. Now, that's definitely overdoing it!
But you can eat fast food and still restrict your calorie intake. Even if you choose one of the less healthy burgers, you can keep the calories down by skipping the fries or drinking water instead of soda. Mayo in sandwiches is another big calorie adder that you can probably survive without.
While eating fast food on a daily basis is still not a good idea, it can be incorporated into a healthy eating plan. LIVE's Nutritional Plan can show you ways that you can add fast food to your diet and still increase your metabolism. The key to maintaining a good metabolism is to eat five small meals a day.
