[H1163]How To Get Into Writing

Get Motivated--Ways to get yourself ready to write for your affiliate marketing program

Writing-Fun or Frustration

Writing can be heaven or it can be hell depending on your attitude and approach. One of the biggest objections people have moving to the Web is writing….anything. Blame it on lousy teachers at some crucial stage in your education. I certainly had an awful 10th grade English teacher in high school. But I also had the very best one in 12th grade. So lay the blame where you will, you can overcome that initial fear and discomfort if you take the time to relearn the process.

Creativity and curiosity

Writing in fact can be a fun and even therapeutic activity. If you are curious and inquisitive, writing is a great way to learn and discover new knowledge about almost anything, and that goes to the heart of affiliate marketing. Whatever niche, product or service you choose to market, you are going to have to know everything there is to know about it. What better way to become a recognized authority than to research and write about something you are interested in or, if you are lucky, passionate about.

If you are interested in your subject, then the rest of the matter goes into how you will thread your ideas into sentences, sentences into paragraphs and paragraphs into articles that attract and hold your reader.

So how do you get the muse to awaken and begin the flow of ideas?

Your Journal

The first basic step is to keep an idea pad or daily journal handy at all times. Ideas can come in the middle of the night, while out on a walk, watching TV or while reading a blog. Wherever and whenever they strike, you should be ready with pen in hand to jot them down. I got an idea on impulse buying from The Wall Street Journal and that fed a flood of ideas to write about. I wrote an article about resisting the impulse to buy when you get the next big guru product launch filling your email box.

Your Mind Space

Create a comfortable and quiet mind space for yourself. Take a walk, sit with a cup of coffee and contemplate your surroundings, meditate, do whatever you are comfortable with to clear your mind. Stay away from the television or the headlines in the newspapers or anything that breaks the serenity of the moment. This is the time to stretch and limber up for the exercise session: writing your article.

Your Writing Space

Design a workspace that supports your activity. Lighting, a comfortable setting, a desk or writing table (some people like to write standing up) a desktop or lap top that is easy to work on while writing. Your office environment should enhance the experience of writing and creating your articles. Some people need neat, clean office space; others have desks that look like the recycling center at the dump. Yet both can write compelling and interesting content. Whatever works for you should be reflected in the physical space you develop in your office or writing space. You will be spending lots of time there so make sure it is a place you look forward to when time comes to sit down and write.

Your Prep

With your mind stretching done, now is the time to get into the writing mode. Take your idea and begin to run with it. Your have your pad with the ideas, so start listing them on your word processor and laying out an outline. Let your creative flow develop through these ideas and you will see a pattern emerge. Break down the elements into paragraph headers and sub paragraphs. Keep sketching the outline until you reach a close ended thought. Now you have it! Your outline is ready for the edit and refining run.

Take a break and give it a fresh look; make some changes and then print it out. Presto, you are now ready to put it all together.

Conclusion

With the outline done, writing is the final and in fact, the easiest part of the process. The sentences will flow, the paragraphs will build and the article will take shape. It will all come together because you are in the groove. You limbered up, moved into your comfortable and mind setting writing space, had it all laid out and you were ready, willing and anxious to get it all down on paper. The nice thing is that your energy and enthusiasm will shine through to your reader. That is what it is all about is it not? To get quality content to your customer for your internet marketing program.

So there you have it. Follow these key steps and you will find article marketing a fulfilling and most rewarding part of the process of affiliate marketing.

May Your Travels Be Prosperous.
