1 - Wash your body with acne body wash instead of regular soap. Acne body wash can help to remove bacteria dirt that is accumulated on the back. A good acne body wash can also help to prevent acne from coming back.

2 - Pat your back dry after shower. It is advised not to aggravate the affected area with rubbing.

3 - It is best to wear cotton clothes whenever you can. Also you can try to put on some powder on your back to keep the area dry.

4 - Wipe off any perspiration on your body as soon as you can. This is especially so after exercise.

5 - Apply Benzoyl Peroxide or AHA on your back. There are topical solutions that can be used for treating back acne. You can also try acne body wash that contains these ingredients.

6 - Exfoliate your back with sea salts or a mild scrub. You can do this a few times a week to keep the skin free from accumulation of dirt and dead skin cells. However, do not exfoliate your back if you are having cystic acne.

If you have very severe back acne, you may consider getting treatment from a dermatologist. However, before you do that, it is best to try out natural treatments and acne treatment products first as they are more cost effective and safer.


All the acne medication existing in the 1960's proved to be inaccurate and have no proof. Foods like pizza, chocolate and other greasy adolescent staples blamed for teenage breakouts. It will be better to start with treatments for adult acne treatment before making any modification in the diet. At last, it can be said that apart from doubts a good diet can help you in preventing acne to some extent.
