Now it is time for the laser to do its job, the exact measurements of how much needs to be removed to correctly reshape the eye was programmed into the computer from the tests that were done in the office.

The computer stops the laser at the exact time that the right amount of tissue has been removed. That's it; the LASIK eye surgery is complete. LASEK has significantly more short-term side effects than LASIK, not least of which is wearing a contact lens for 4 days - I hate contact lenses at the best of times! I really cound't use a computer or watch television for those 4 days, and even going to the super market gave me a massive headache. LASEK is similar to LASIK eye surgery and might be an option if you aren't eligible for LASIK.
