[H894]How To Build Home Studio
by Neil Baulch, Nei
Do you want to build your own home but are not sure how to go about it? This is a normal feeling, as most new home builders don't know what they are doing, and building a house can be challenging, especially if you don't plan everything carefully and causes you to run over budget.
Building your own house, means you need to plan everything out to the last detail. This way you won't go over budget and if you do it wont be by much.
1. Make sure you plan everything out well and include the building costs of each stage of building your own house. You can get these costs before you start the project by asking for quotes from each possible contractor. Make sure you get the plans to the house drawn out. This way you will know what the house will look like even before it is built. When you make changes on a plan it is much less expensive than making changes to the construction. Plans will also let you have a clear picture of what the house will look like and what it will cost. You should also visit home products stores so you have an idea of how much light fixtures, flooring, and plumbing will cost.
2. When you know what materials you want to use in your home, have the contract quote his price using the materials you ask for.
3. Its so important that you plan as much of your house as possible before you start building. If you do decide to change something after construction has begun, then you need to know that there is an added charge, and you need to decide whether that added expense is worth it.
4. Think about the home you are building, don't expect a large fancy home to come cheap. The style and size of the house you build is going to influence the total amount of money you pay.
5. Keep a certain amount of money set back for the unforeseen. When the contractors come in to prepare your land, they may come across things they hadn't counted on, and these may drive the cost up.
House building is difficult and when you are a first time home builder, you often don't understand all that is involved in such a task as to build your own house, and you don't understand that there are many different contractors that work on your new home. Every one of these contractors has a different ability, and each of their abilities is needed to build a house, and because so many people are involved it is often that homeowners go over budget.
The extra costs usually occur in the beginning stages or the need stages when you add the finished accessories like flooring and lighting to your new house.
People that build new houses usually run into cost problems when they start adding things like fixtures, flooring, cabinets and appliances, and that is generally because they didn't price these things before they started to build. This is where homeowners start paying more than they estimated, and the reason why it is so important to price everything to build your own house before your start construction.

There are amazing options available within this growing market of decorating and generally, there are prices that are designed to match. The good news is that while art often imitates life, there is no reason that we can't imitate some of the great art we see in the movies or on televisions shows in our homes at a fraction of the cost.

First of all, a really good home theater is an investment, particularly those that are generally used in private rooms. With that being said you will want to decorate your room in a manner that will not distract from your movie watching experience. There are many ways you can do this and many of them come at rather hefty costs for the average consumer.

You do not have to purchase special lighting at $500 a pop when you can go to your local lighting or home improvement store and find excellent wall sconces that will be perfect for your home theater at a fraction of the cost for which you will find them at specialty stores catering to those building home theaters. For more low lighting options you can use inexpensive strings of rope lighting or even Christmas tree lights in order to provide some light without risking a glare on the screen.

Rather than hanging expensive drapery on the walls in your home theater you can apply textured paint in dark colors in order to avoid distracting glares. Your local retailer may encourage you to soundproof your walls and you are the only one that can really decide if that is necessary. I personally would pass, particularly if your home theater is going to be in a basement, which is typically somewhat removed from the rest of your home and your family area.

As far as flooring goes, darker carpeting is a good idea in most areas though possibly not the best in a basement. Cork makes a good flooring option for basement floors as is works to muffle sound from escaping the room in addition to a natural resistance to moisture related problems that may occasionally arise in a basement. It is also a very inexpensive flooring material that is highly underrated.

I also recommend dark furnishing for your home theater. A good choice might be darkly colored sectional sofas if you want the family to enjoy the space together. I also recommend beanbags or other special seating for the little ones who may enjoy your home theater as well. This gives them their own seats and helps eliminate some of the bickering and squabbles that often arise over premium seating space.

The point is that you do not have to spend a fortune in order to create a great atmosphere that is totally conducive to an overall pleasant movie watching experience in your home theater. While I do not recommend a great deal of clutter along the walls in this particular room you can do great things with plastic popcorn boxes and flameless tea light candles along the floor. Let your imagination present creative options to the big-ticket items you see in the specialty shops you'll be amazed at some of the neat things you come up with.
