Everyone thinks they know how to choose a wedding gown. What most women dont realize is fabrics, style and measurements can influence the style of wedding dress that best compliments a particular body type.
This article will help you choose the right wedding dress style for your own body shape.
FULL FIGURED WOMEN
If you are a full figured woman the best silhouette is the A- Line style. A-line style lengthens the whole body without drawing attention to your waistline. The empire waist is another good choice. The empire is narrowest just below the bust and conceals your waist and hips.
Many plus size girls tend to purchase wedding gowns that cover a lot of skin. If religion isnt an issue dont be afraid to show some skin. Skin is sexy and showing your arms and neckline can often make one appear smaller.
Deep V necks and scoop necks flatter curvy figures and always look best on full figured women.
PETITE
A-line wedding dresses are also flattering on petite women. As we stated earlier, this style lengthens the body. Sheaths seem to shorten a small body even more, so petit women should avoid Sheath style wedding dresses. Also steer clear of very full skirts which will make you look 'bottom heavy'. You want to keep your wedding dress in proportion to your body.
Be careful with strapless. A petite woman may have to lift her arms to reach up to her new husband. A cap sleeve gives the feeling of a strapless gown and also serves a practical purpose in holding the gown in place.
LARGE BUSTED WOMEN
Off the shoulder gowns look wonderful on a full bust. It draws our attention upward, emphasizes the shoulders and minimizes the chest. Keep your skirt narrow. Wearing a full skirt will make you look large on top and bottom.
BOTTOM HEAVY
Women who are larger through their hips and buttocks should look for a wedding dress that focuses on their upper body preferably with a full skirt.
Show your arms back and bustline.
A corset style bodice with lacing will highlight your upper body. We want to draw attention away from your hips. Avoid pleats or gathered fabric around the waist. An A-line skirted wedding dress always works the best.
Do you need to complete your look with a few prom accessories? Most people focus on the dress, finding just the right dress for prom. However, there is more to just getting the right dress. You also need to dress up your look and your style by adding some accessories to your wardrobe. Unbelievably, this can actually be very easy to do. Jewels are one of the best ways to do so. You do not have to spend a lot of money, either.
Jewels are a good investment because they can be used repeatedly. For example, perhaps your parents would like to buy you something special for your prom night. They pick out a beautiful necklace for you to wear. You look amazing and the sparkle from the necklace draws attention to your beautiful dress. It is a win- win situation since you can keep that necklace for parties down the road you may attend. It could not be easier to do than that!
You may want to pick out some prom accessories when you are picking out your dress, too. Many of the finer boutiques will offer matching jewelry to the dress. You may find items like ankle bracelets, rings, bracelets and necklaces that all match beautifully with the cut of your dress. You may also find a range of different styles to choose from. This could include some of today's top jewel designers and a number of budget friendly items that just look amazing with your dress. As you shop for your prom dress, remember that these items are available to you through these locations, too. It may be the perfect way to top off your look.
You can over do it with accessories in some situations. Rather than picking out too many items, pick out just a few, but make them stand out. For example, if you have a plunging neckline on your prom dress, you definitely will benefit from a long necklace. Adding earrings or even a nice bracelet will help to round out the look. There is no benefit to wearing items that cannot be seen, or more than one of any item. Of course, the amount and type of jewelry you wear is really up to you and your tastes.
Do not feel limited by just diamonds, either. Try on a variety of gems and in different cuts. You may find that a ruby helps to bring out the coloring in your skin or that a beautiful sapphire makes your eyes look amazing as they match. Prom accessories like jewels are nearly as important as your dress. Do not forget to get them in place for your very special day.
Find all the prom accessories that you need including jewels. It is always important to accessorize your prom dress.
