[H1062]How To Fax Resume
by Mario R. Churchill, Mar

There are many ways to write it and this depends if the applicant is a fresh grad or an executive. The graduate does not have work experience so the person will have to focus on academic feats and extra curricular activities. The executive on the other hand has to sell oneself based on the work done in the past.

When an ad is seen in the newspaper, the Internet or on television, the applicant should submit the resume at once. There is usually a deadline mentioned and late applications will not be entertained.

If sending this via snail takes too long and the company does not have an email address, the fastest way to do this will be by sending this using the fax machine. The individual should put the document in and in a few seconds send this to the potential company.

It will be a good idea to call the company once again to make sure the document was clear and complete.

Before sending the fax, here are a few things that the applicant must remember.

1. A career objective must be placed so that the recruiter will know what position is the individual applying for. One or two sentences will do and it has to be clear and concise.

2. The next thing, which recruiters will review very carefully, is the person's accomplishments. It doesn't have to be something big like saving the company from a meltdown. It should simply state the things that the executive did including one's duties and responsibilities.

3. There are many ways to state these things. Applicants should avoid lengthy paragraphs and probably use bullet points instead to get the message across.

4. It is also not a good idea to state how much will be the desired salary for the job unless otherwise requested. It is a huge turnoff given that the person will have to get in first and prove oneself to those who are already working for the company.

4. The last thing to do is to proofread the resume. Typos and other grammatical errors must be omitted prior to submission. Once that document is sent by fax, there is no way to make any more corrections. This will be in the hands of the recruiter who has the power to keep it on file or throw it in the trash.

When everything is ready, this is the time that is sent through the fax. It will take some time before a recruiter decides to call and schedule an interview so one has to be patient.

During this time, it wouldn't hurt to also send this to other companies because there is always room for someone qualified in the job market.

It will be a good idea to practice answering certain questions prior to the interview. Giving a one-sentence response does not do much so the applicant has to expound on giving the recruiter a chance to know more about the individual.

Fax papers don't last that long. During the interview, bringing an original copy is best and then giving this to the interviewer.

Before you apply for any job, make sure that you are qualified for the position. Each job has unique needs. If you are wondering if there is a right way on how to deliver or distribute your resume to companies, there is none. In order for you to get the best results possible, what you can do is to give the potential employer your resume in the format he requires.

The following are ways on how you can distribute your resume:

1. By email
Clearly the most popular method in this technologically-advanced era, an applicant sends his resume to the employer via email. Once the employer finds something interesting on the applicant's resume, he also responds via email.

It is interesting to note that resume blasting is also a way of distributing applicant resumes to companies in need of a new batch of employees. The most usual resume blasting method is done with the ASCII wherein paperwork of potential employees are distributed to hundreds and even thousands of recruiters.

As long as the agents are hiring or the employers are in need of new people, the system responsible for resume blasting distributes the paperwork of the applicants, depending on the industries they are most comfortable working for, as well as their locations.

2. Faxing
A hard copy of the resume is faxed to the recruiter upon request or solicitation of the hiring managers. When the resume is faxed, make sure that the paperwork is scanned properly and clearly, making it easier for the reader (recruiter, hiring manager) to comprehend what is written on it better.

Sometimes there are also scanning errors that the applicant must be concerned with. There are resumes that are received and read by people but there are others that are merely scanned and then later on downloaded to a database. Lately, more and more companies are veering toward the latter. When you send in your resume by fax, all you can do really is cross your fingers that a human being is at the end of the fax machine.

Resume blasting concentrates on the targeted distribution of paperwork particularly via fax. Let's say that the companies based their criteria on the resume they request on factors such as position specialty, salary, industry and location. Therefore, not all resumes can be forwarded to a particular company.

Search engine is narrowed down, in terms of fax resume distribution, by opting to specialize on the kind of company recruiting for employees, the city, state or region the company is established, the industry the company specializes in, the job specialty that is required for the applicant to have experience on and the salary ranges.
Therefore, if you think about it resume blasting is a special feature of forwarding the resumes of the potential applicants be it via email or fax depending on the preference of the company looking for employees.

By wishing to find laborers easier, resume blasting is a procedure most hiring managers and agencies resort to. Resume blasting can distribute the applicant's paperwork to more than 10,000 hiring companies, employers and recruiters in less than a minute.
