[H1085]How To Find Public Ip
by Li Ming Wong, Li
Believe it or not, there’s actually some method to the search madness when looking for public domain materials to use in your business. The search engines have a hard time trying to organize the information precisely because the Internet is so decentralized and vast. In this scenario, the expert searcher does not rely on Google; he relies on specific search strategies.

The debate however, rages on about where to find public domain works: On the Internet or in the real world, sifting through libraries and stores holding old books? The answer, of course, is two-pronged: You can use both avenues to supplement your research – find a public domain title via the Internet and acquire through a real-world search. Alternatively, you can also download some public domain works from the Internet, and despite what people might tell you, finding public domain works in bookstores and libraries is quite easy.

In searching for public domain material you can use:

The Search Engines

A search engine can only point you to the general direction of public domain repositories, and as such should only be used if you don’t have any previous leads on a market.

Niche Directories

This is a little better, as directories allow you to find niche-specific information. The only problem here is that some directories may not have the same breadth of information as the search engine might have, and as such you may miss out on a lot of decent public domain works.

Government websites

If you are looking to use government publications as your target public domain resource, then the Internet is your haven. Most, if not all, government publications find their way online and very quickly, as well. This is excellent news for anyone wishing to use such information as content for their website, or as part of their services.

Online Libraries

This is where it starts to get interesting – while most online libraries will consist of recent to moderately old books, you can find many fantastic public domain resources here. The best part is that many local libraries have started creating online portals, and you can search in your local library before actually heading over.

If that is not the case, the best you can do is to find the relevant public domain work and once you have a title and author,

Imagine a nearly endless gold mine of content you can use and republish in any way you want. That's what public domain works are. They're works of text, video, image or audio that has no copyright you need to worry about. For most marketers this is like a dream come true. The only problem is: How do you find copyright free books? Read on to learn a few easy ways to find public domain works.

Public Domain Texts Online

There are literally hundreds of thousands of pages of content online that are freely available. Project Gutenberg publishes many public domain works and makes them available completely free of charge.

There are many other websites online that publish public domain works for free as well. A careful search on Google will reveal many websites that may be helpful.

Government Resources

Anything that's published by the government is automatically copyright-free. For example, the transcripts, videos and audios of NASA space flights, declassified CIA reports and images that were taken in the military.

The list goes on and on. There is an unbelievable amount of content published by the government every year. There's content on everything from Real Estate to the economy to divorce rates to healthy eating habits, all completely free. Many marketers have made fortunes simply by taking information published by the government, repackaging it and selling it.

Find Public Domain Audio Books

There are plenty of audio books you can find online that are public domain. These audio books are usually read by a human voice who's volunteered to read the book free of charge. Again, you can simply download these audio books and republish them for your purposes.

For example, Napoleon Hill's famous “Think and Grow Rich” has been public domain for some time now. There are multiple versions of this book in audio book format that are all public domain. You could easily find an audio version of this book and republish it for your purposes.

Think and Grow Rich is a rather well known example. However, there are many more obscure books in the public domain for which you can find audio books for and republish.

Find Expired Copyright Books

A book that's published before 1923 is automatically considered public domain. If a book is published between 1923 and 1963, it's in public domain unless the copyright has been renewed. Often time's copyrights simply expire rather than become renewed.

You can find many of these books online at old online bookstores. Simply find a book that's still public domain and buy the book. You can have the book scanned and OCRed or transcribed by hand for a small price. This method is slightly more labor-intensive, but it has one big, big benefit over online public domain works: Nobody else is using it.

If you find an ancient book on Martial Arts, chances are nobody else in the world is using it. You can publish the book as your own and make a whole lot more money than a publicly available work.

Make Money Using Public Domain

As you can tell, there's a lot of money to be made in public domain. You can find a lot of public domain works online and offline for free. Don't miss out on this amazing resource for getting a ton of great content for your business for very little work.
