[H827]How To Add Laptop Memory
by Dmmarketer, Dmm
Before you ever add laptop memory to your machine, you have to find memory that will work on you system. There are various ways to do this. One option is to purchase the memory on ebay. However, I recommend purchasing the memory on laptopmemoryupgrade.com or some other similar web site. The great thing about those sites it that you can simply select your laptop model from a list and they will show you the memory that will work on your machine. I recommend purchasing the largest module possible.

Now it is time to start.

Step 1) Get the tools
A. Screwdriver - yes, that really is all you need.
-My computer took a Phillips head screwdriver.

Note: I suggest that you make sure your screwdriver is not magnetized. If it is I suggest you get a different one. If you insist on using a magnetized screwdriver make sure it only touches the screws

Step 2) Turn off your computer
A. Turn off your computer
B. unplug
C. remove battery
Note: Make sure you completely shut your computer down, not in stand by, not in hibernate, etc.

Step 3) Open up your computer
On the bottom of you laptop you should see a small panel with screws it it. You might see a couple of different panels. On my laptop the one that allows you to change the memory is located in the center. Simply unscrew that panel and you should see the memory.

step 4) Put new memory in
If you are attempting this I assume you already know what memory is and what it looks like. If not, it is a rectangular shaped thing and is quite thin. Most laptop's have two slots where you can add laptop memory. Just put the memory in the slot.

Note: If all memory slots are in use, you can remove some of the old memory. Just make sure you remove the one with the smallest amount of memory. Hopefully there is a label on each memory stick.

Step 5) Put everything back the way it is supposed to go.
A. Screw the panel back onto your computer
B. Reattach the battery and plug it back in
C. turn you computer on.

See, this really was extremely easy.
