[H829]How To Advertise A Business
by Jake Morgan, Jak

What? Come on don't tell me you did not know that you can advertise on Facebook. Have you ever been to Facebook? If not, you should try it out.

What is Facebook?

Facebook is a social networking site that allows you to connect with people you already know and make new friends in the process. There are tons of applications and games. There are also tons of businesses already on Facebook.

How do you get a profile on Facebook?

Go to www.facebook.com. When you get there, you can create an account for your business. Make a profile page. Include everything that you want people to know about your business. You can choose to find friends for your business by importing your address book from your email account. If any of the recipients have an account on Facebook already, it will send them a friend request for your business page. Then you are off and running. Once you have friends added for your page, you will be shown to their friends as ‘people you may know'. It is essentially a way to exponentially increase your friend list and get your name out there.

What else can Facebook do for your business?

Every single page on Facebook has ads. Some of these are pay per click. You can put an ad up and get specifically targeted customers with pay per click. Also, every single Facebook application has at least one banner ad at the top of the screen and sometimes banner ads at the bottom too. Some of these applications tend to be a bit addictive so people keep coming back to them again and again. A lot of people will get curios about a banner that catches their eye or one that they see repeatedly on a lot of pages. When they get curious what do you think they do? That's right! They click on it. If that is your banner they click on, then guess what. That's one more effective advertisement for you. Because Facebook has such a widespread user base, your ads will be seen by people all over not just the country, but the world.

Keeping on top of your Facebook account

You should probably check your Facebook account at least once a day to accept any friend requests and update your status. Your status is a way to let everyone on your friends list know what is going on with your company. For example, if you are going to have a huge sale on your products next weekend, then in your status message you could have a countdown to the sale day, or you could even use their event planner to send out invitations and get RSVP's back. That feature is very useful as well. In essence, Facebook has the potential to be a very useful tool in your marketing arsenal. Used properly, Facebook can increase your client base by a very broad margin and the best part is that a Facebook account is free.

For practically every kind of business you can think of, you can be confident that you can discover them on the Internet. Online businesses are absolutely necessary these days. Every kind of business is making the jump to the Internet. Are you being left behind? You may find that bringing your business online will lead to more rewards beyond that of the time-honored brick and mortar venture.

Establishing a business on the Internet is the first step. Making it successful is a further project. Given the immense potential of the Internet, we can make an intelligent guess that other businesses just like your business are already online. Because online competition is often stiff, getting your share of the online market is seemingly impossible to do. For some business sectors this is a very large challenge. But, it is realistic and not unachievable.

This first step involves building a website. Website development is a further topic, and there are many resources to help you do this.

Once your business website is online, you have to advertise your site so other people on the Internet can learn about your business and visit your site. This means you ought to actively advertise your business site. You can actively market your site in various ways. One effective approach is by article marketing.

Article marketing, as you can imagine, starts with an article. You'll need to write about some feature of your business, product line, or service. You should examine each of your products, the value of using them and the problems they help overcome. You could probably write a number of articles about each individual characteristic of any product or service you offer. This gives you more than enough opportunity to produce a number of quality articles related to what you have to offer on your website.

Of course, articles with material related to your site is what's important here. Readers of your articles who are interested in the information in the article are precisely the prospects you want to visit your site. These prospects are called targeted visitors. They represent quality traffic.

Along with each article you write, you'll create a resource box where you will recommend your website and incorporate one or two links pointing to your site. Authors typically offer more information about the topic of the article on their site. You can even offer a complimentary report expounding on the subject your article could only summarize. This is successful at persuading curious readers to go to your website.

After you complete your writing, you'll next distribute your article. You can distribute your article to several article directories or arrange with an article distribution service to present your article to article directories for you. After you've distributed your article, various newsletter publishers or website owners can choose your article. Newsletter publishers are in search of content for their newsletters and may include your article in an edition of their newsletter. Website owners often want additional material for their sites and can republish your article on their sites.

Article directories categorize your articles to a suitable field or genre. Nearly all of these article directories include a search feature to help their users find articles with specific keywords. Your article should have widely used keywords in the title or in the article itself to make it easier to find. Use the same keywords that online users employ to look for what they want in both article directories and search engines.

The search capability of article directories permits people interested in receiving information for their website or newsletter to rapidly find what they need. And, if they are looking for material related to your topic, your article has the prospect for further distribution.

So, what precisely does all this accomplish for you?

The more publicity your article receives across the Web, the more quality traffic you will get. And, as your articles show up on additional websites, the greater the interest search engines show in your article and in the links to your website. Your site will climb in the search engines for significant keyword phrases. This also generates more targeted visitors to your website.

In short, article marketing is a powerful means of generating targeted traffic and providing links pointing to your business website. Your articles, by themselves, will encourage interested readers to click to your site. The links pointing to your website, displayed on sites using your article, can help search engines determine the subject of your site and the number of links will improve its perceived level of significance.

In order for your online business to survive, you must have a constant traffic flow to your business website. If you are looking to flourish, attract ever more traffic to your business site by creating more articles. Do not undervalue the power of articles. They tell all potential online consumers about your business. Do not settle for merely a small number of articles. The more articles, the more traffic your business website will get. And, the more profits you will bring in.
