[H963]How To Clean Water Cooler
by Justin March, Jus
Have you ever wondered how to sanitise your Bottled or Bottle less (plumbed in / mains connected) Water Cooler? The following instructions are written for use with Aqua Dosa™ products which maybe sourced from www.aquadosa.com. Suitable for use on all water coolers the following instructions treat all water lines, tanks and dispensing taps.

It is important to note that the following sanitisation process should be carried our every 3 months or sooner if there has been any known contamination of your water cooler or water machine. If your machine or cooler is left unused or left empty for a length of time then you should also sanitise the machine immediately before letting people dispense water from the machine.

If your water cooler is connected to the mains water supply then you must replace your filter every 6 months. If your filter is older than 6 months then it must be REMOVED from the machine to avoid Health and Safety concerns.

Why does Water Coolers Direct.com Ltd use Aqua Dosa products?
Aqua Dosa™ are winners of a Green Apple award for environmentally friendly products this is because the Aqua Dosa™ solution breaks down to oxygen and water and leaves no toxic products. In addition to this the product has no taste or odour and kills bacteria including Legionella, viruses, algae, fungi and fungal spores and is completely environmentally friendly.

For Point Of Use / Plumbed in Coolers:
?Shut off the water using your Shut Off Valve on the inlet pipe
?Replace your coolers filter with the Mini Dosa using the push fit connectors. It is important the filter is REMOVED, as any carbon filter would make the sanitising solution ineffective.
?Unscrew the see through container at the base of your Mini Dosa
?Put 20ml of Sanitiser fluid into the container and refit to the Mini Dosa
?Empty your coolers tank through the taps
?Turn the water back on using the Shut Off Valve
?Leave the machine for 10 minutes
?While you are waiting clean your cooler with your Aqua Dosa™ Wipes
?Shut off water
?Empty your coolers tank through the taps
?If you have a hot machine turn off the red hot switch and then drain the water through your hot tank drain (normally located at the base or back of your machine)
?Replace the filter; if your filter is 6 months old then it needs to be replaced, otherwise the filter must be REMOVED from the machine to avoid Health and Safety concerns.
?Turn on the water using your Shut Off Valve
?If you have a hot machine leave for 5 minutes to ensure that the hot tank is full and turn on the red hot switch
?Flush half a bucket of water through your taps to remove any remaining Sanitiser Fluid
?Taste water to ensure quality
?Your cooler is now ready to use

For Bottled Fed Coolers:
?Remove the empty bottle from your machine
?Remove the Spike Housing and the separator you will then see the tank
?Using your Sanitiser Bottle pour 20ml of Sanitiser Fluid into the tank
?Leave the machine for 10 minutes
?While you are waiting clean your cooler with your Aqua Dosa™ Wipes paying attention to the Spike Housing and the separator
?Empty your coolers tank through the taps
?If you have a hot machine turn off the red hot switch and then drain the water through your hot tank drain (normally located at the base or back of your machine)
?Replace the Spike Housing and the separator and place a full bottle on the machine
?If you have a hot machine leave for 5 minutes to ensure that the hot tank is full and turn on the red hot switch

As a teenager I was your stereo-type portrait, greasy hair, spots and bushy eyebrows. I think I went through a very greedy stage and ate everything in sight. My favourite night was Friday when it was family takeaway night. We would usually order from the local curry house as my Dad was the one in charge. There are six of us in our family so we required a large box for all of our goodies. We always ordered too much and there would be leftovers everywhere; a selection of samosas, curry and rice left over which could have fed us all over again! I was like a human dustbin and would demolish all of this, swishing it down with gallons of cola.

Despite having a diet full of junk, fizzy pop and no exercise I remained annoyingly slim during my teenage years. I never contemplated drinking water, eating salads or going along with the idea of eating everything in moderation. Much to my horror, this was not to last and I noticed my weight creep up in my late twenties. It was definitely a gradual thing but it hit me like a bolt of thunder.

I had been away to Greece for 2 weeks and carried on with my indulgent lifestyle. I especially loved the Greek cuisine and tucked into a large portions of mousakka washed down with sophisticated mojitos. I had an amazing time and couldn't wait to see all my photos I had taken. Apparently the camera adds on 10 pounds but when I looked at my photos I was horrified. Lying on the most beautiful golden sandy beaches was a beach whale – it was me! I am surprised the locals did not call for Green Peace to come and save the whale.

I am glad I got this wake up call and I have totally turned myself around. I am now munching on fresh fish and vegetables and drinking lots of water. Anyone who is thinking about losing weight or carrying out a healthy lifestyle should definitely go for it. My saviour has been water – yes I know most people think it's boring and would rather sip on a glass of chardonnay but it's remarkable. I can't believe I never used to drink it but it has so many benefits.

When I was my former unhealthy self I used to suffer from numerous headaches which pounded all day. I have now found out that this could have been caused by dehydration. I still drink the odd glass of cola but I now see the drink as poison in my body. Water is certainly the way forward for us all. Not only has it helped with my headaches my skin is now much clearer and although now in my early 30's I have never looked so good.

My work buddies think I am crazy but I can't say enough good things about water! Every time I go by their desks I leave them a fresh glass of water from the water cooler. I know it's not quite the jam doughnut they would like to see but it's for all their benefit. I have been thinking I should get commission on everytime I promoted water – I am a total ambassador.
