[H991]How To Cure Anxiety
by Joshua Hilton, Jos

A lot of us live with anxiety in our lives because it is a normal human emotion. This emotion may make you feel anxious if you need to face a problem at your job or before a public speech. Then again, it is a very different situation if you are faced with an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders have been known to turn a persons ordinary life into a living nightmare, making it difficult to function in normal way. When the problem gets out of control people start to look for ways to learn how to cure anxiety.

Because anxiety is not considered a medical issue, you will have to look for a natural solution rather than the more traditional forms of treatments. Your anxiety disorder may be awful, but if you want to stop it naturally, you must realize that the disorder is coming from a fear rooted deep inside you. Post traumatic stress, and obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD) are two types of anxiety disorders which require a mental health professional, but most anxiety problems can be cured without drugs.

When people experience an anxiety disorder most of them come down with a variety of physical symptoms like nausea, pain, dizziness and even infections. Many of the fears that people experience from their anxiety are a result of unfounded fears, or fears that have developed from deep rooted life changing experiences. Two examples of possible deep rooted fears are death and divorce.

There are a variety of natural solutions that can help ease an anxiety disorder, or even show you how to cure anxiety. Below is a brief overview of some of the more popular methods that have helped many people.

Visualization is one of the most widely used methods of fending off a panic or anxiety attack. The basic idea of visualization is to prevent a panic attack from consuming you. You should visualize a calm and peaceful place where you feel safe, and then combine this with deep breathing techniques.

Another way to control anxiety is to practice breathing exercises. Even professionals advise deep breathing exercises as part of a natural treatment plan. There are certain techniques known as shallow breathing and diaphragmatic breathing which you will need to learn from experts. You will must apply these techniques correctly for them to be effective, so you will have to practice them. You can start with practicing for five minutes at the start and increase the timing as you get comfortable. These methods can be rather effective when dealing with anxiety disorders.

The most widely implemented, respected, and effective all natural cure for anxiety is Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Cognitive Behavior Therapy has changed the way people look at curing anxiety disorders. CBT works by helping people discover the triggers that cause their anxiety attack, and then it shows you how to overcome these triggers. Cognitive Behavior Therapy does not work for every single person, but most of the people who have used it have been anxiety free for many years. There is always the possibility, but those numbers are very low.

If you've ever experienced anxiety chances are you never want to again. There are many ways you can try avoiding anxiety but lets start you off with 10 steps to actually curing anxiety. Not everyone can avoid it but they can find a way around it, it's amazing the little things you can actually do to help.

Reduce the amount of caffeine your body takes- Believe it or not caffeine will actually make you become more jittery and it has an up and down effect on your body. Sure you'll get the energy you need but it will only stay for about 6 hours before you need it again. Adding caffeine may also add an addiction and then you'll be dealing with two mental issues instead of just one.

Stop worrying about things- Many people will worry about bills, things that can happen, money issues, grades and other things. These people will always expect the bottom to drop out of them, even if they haven't happened. By worrying all the time they never see the joy in life.

Sleep- If you get the proper amount of sleep you're body should be able to focus on just about any task at hand. However, if you lack sleep your chances of having an anxiety attack become stronger.

Get educated- Get as much material as you can find on anxiety and learn about it. By doing this you'll know you aren't alone and that others have suffered and found a way around it. Plus, you'll learn about how to control and conquer your disorder and maybe what sets it off. Find out what causes your anxiety and avoid it. By knowing if there is something specific that triggers it you can hopefully avoid anxiety.

Join an anxiety group- This is a great way to find support with others that are going through the same issues and you'll have someone to talk with about it. There's a group for just about everything you can imagine and now you'll have one that can actually help you out. These groups may meet weekly, monthly or even online but the best part is they've been through what you are going through and may be able to help you. If they can't help at least they will be the shoulder you need.

Exercise- Many people don't realize that exercise actually helps them in many ways besides building muscles. By taking a walk or doing a few sit ups you'll get your mind off the thoughts and into something else, which will help when anxiety tries kicking in.

Eat better- Those that actually eat healthy tend to have less health issues. Instead focus more on what you are placing into your body and not about those that can hurt it. Try drinking more water, many people tend to skip water and drink caffeinated products or something of lesser value. By eating and drinking sugary products you are actually increasing your chances of having an anxiety attack.

Get out and meet people- Many times just by socializing with others you can overcome anxiety disorder. By staying indoors you are only helping your anxiety manifest and become something that much bigger. But by going out and meeting people you'll not only be outside the home but smile more and learn about those around you and the community you live, this hopefully lessening your fears.

Reward yourself- Set up a few goals for yourself, make sure they are small at first. Once you reach one of these goals reward yourself to something you like doing. It doesn't matter if this is getting your nails done at a mall or going and purchasing a coffee. Remember if these aren't working you should see a professional to see if there is anything he/she recommends to help you cure your anxiety.
