[H1001]How To Deal With Anxiety Attacks

An anxiety panic attack is characterized as a panic attack that is induced due to unnatural levels of anxiety. This anxiety can be related to anything, the attacks are not just limited to major stressful events or concerns. Anxiety over a party, a loved one, even anxiety over what clothes to wear can cause an anxiety panic attack.

One of the key features of an anxiety panic attack is the focus of the attack. When a person experiences such panic, usually the panic has a central trigger. For some people, who tend to experience chronic panic attacks, the trigger tends to be the same thing. Agoraphobics, for instance, tend to have an anxiety panic attack anytime they travel beyond their safe distance, for some this can be just beyond their doorstep.

What is the Triggers?

For most people the trigger for an anxiety panic attack will vary with the situation. At times of extreme stress panic can trigger as the body's natural reaction to the high levels of stress. This is known as the fight or flight reaction, and is widely accepted as the main reason behind any panic attack. When a person experiences an extremely stressful, or traumatic, event the body will react. A release of chemicals into a persons system will cause an extreme reaction to the situation.

An anxiety panic attack occurs when the chemicals are triggered by a reactive stressor. There is no need for it, but the body assumes there is some danger it must react to, this is a panic attack. An anxiety panic attack can be marked by many key factors. Overwhelming feelings of fear, and hopelessness are all signs of an attack. Other signs include increased heart rate, sweating, tingling in the extremities, headaches, nausea, extreme emotional fluctuations.

What about the Symptoms

The list could go on for quite sometime, as symptoms tend to be a mixed bag when concerning panic. However, any panic sufferer will attest to the immense feeling of anxiety that accompanies an anxiety panic attack; as if there is nothing in the world that can help you, unfortunately it is one of the major common symptoms that mark an attack.

The good thing about an anxiety panic attack, if it can be said there is one, is that in most cases they can be controlled. Exercise, controlled breathing, healthy diet, relaxation techniques, even just someone to be there and listen, all of these can help control panics. For many the key is to find what causes the panic and reduce the effect that factor has on their life.

If you have ever suffered under the terrifying grip of anxiety panic attack symptoms then you have undoubtedly felt pretty desperate about finding some way to cope with any further panic attacks. The good thing is that there are a lot of options to choose from. The bad thing is that deciding which is best for you isn't always so easy.

There is a an ongoing debate about whether medications or natural cures for panic attacks are more successful in anxiety attack panic treatment. A goodly number of people use a combination of approaches. Others go totally with natural methods and don't take any pills, while still others rely completely on taking meds.

While there are purists who rely totally on one or the other approach and won't even entertain the idea of of using the one they don't favor, I'm not such a single-minded person myself. I do, however, definitely feel that the natural approach is the better path. This is not just a matter of not liking to take pills, but more a case of considering what is more effective for learning to cope with anxiety panic attack symptoms. While medications can be useful in managing these symptoms, there are things they simply cannot do that natural cures for panic attacks do do.

Here are three good reasons to at least consider using natural methods to deal with anxiety.

1. Meds don't eliminate the basic problem.

You don't have to be reminded about the symptoms, right? Just to name a few: shortness of breath, palpitations, perspiration, dizziness, trembling, detachment from reality, fear of going crazy and fear of dying. Great numbers of users see medications as miraculous because they can greatly reduce how often panic attacks occur, thus cutting down on their experiences with these symptoms. And besides, the meds often make you feel more relaxed as well. People taking medications are often so relieved by the fact that the intervals between panic attacks are now longer that they lose sight of the fact that they still do happen.

But the elation you feel at putting off the symptoms for a while shouldn't cloud the reality that it really is only a delay. The medications can provide transient relief of symptoms and a longer interval between attacks, but they do absolutely nothing about the underlying anxiety since they function at the surface level. They don't work at the level of the core of the problem and root out the fear and dread called forth by those anxiety panic attack symptoms.

2. You can be in charge.

A really good thing about the natural method for managing them is that you're not just a helpless victim when you sense a panic attack setting in. When you take the meds you may have fewer attacks, but what happens when one does get through? Do you just sit through those waves of terror praying that, somehow, you'll live through it?

If you choose to rely on natural methods to cope with these attacks, you'll be better equipped to deal with them. While meds reduce the number of attacks, natural coping techniques reduce the horror of going through them by giving you the necessary tools to combat them. In time, these attacks will lose their edge, and eventually leave you alone.

3. The effects of natural methods persist.

The effects of medications last only as long as you keep taking them. When the bottle is empty or the side effects have become so unbearable that you quit taking them, you're right back at square one, no better off than if you had never taken them. With natural cures for panic attacks, on the other hand, you're on your way to removing them from your life completely. You learn how to ward them off permanently.

Like I said earlier, I'm not the type to stand by one anxiety attack panic treatment and readily dismiss the other. Medication does have its merits. But I'd rather look forward to the future than dwell on the present, and if the natural approach to curing panic attacks offers a life free from the fear of anxiety panic attack symptoms, then I'm sticking to it.
