Everyone or should I say, just about everyone is going to experience some form of back pain in their lifetime. Some of the ways that you can have a burning pain in the upper back muscle is by a sports injury, you overdue some garden work and possibly poor posture. All of these can contribute to having this pain. But there is hope and information on ways to do things that can help give you relief.

Just because you feel your muscles burning it does not mean that you should lie around and do nothing about it, just hoping that the pain will vanish by itself. You can probably do this on your first day, and that will be OK, and you might even get away by resting for a few days. But if you continue to lie around hoping that your back pain is going to disappear then you are just slowing down your recovery process.

Its imperative that you start exercising those muscles. You need to do some stretching and perform easy exercises so that your muscles start its healing process. This will help in getting rid of the burning type pain in the upper back. You need to resume your regular activities within a few days. You may still feel that burning sensation, but this is a good time for you to start moving yourself and start performing light exercises.

You can find a way to get relief whether you are in bed, moving or working. A good way is to use heat with a plug-in pad, a heat pack can be warmed in a microwave, a medical therapeutic pad can stick to your skin and will provide warmth for 4-6 hours, a hot bath or even a spa can help you ease your back pain.

Medication such as Acetaminophen, NSAIDS, and many types of anti-inflammatory medications, or even herbal analgesics will have to be resorted to if pain still persists in the upper back muscles.

You may want to try some of these remedies to relive the pain in your muscles. If you still haven't been able to find relief by using the advice provided then its probably time for you to see a physician. Your doctor might prescribe narcotics or have a steroid injection.
