Houston is a big city. The largest city in Texas and the fourth largest in the U.S. Like any big city, you're going to need a car to get around. This top 10 list has been compiled based on the number of searches done for the car brand in Houston. The number 1 car, Chevrolet Houston, received the most searches. The number 10 car, Cadillac Houston, received the least amount of votes.

This is the second article in a series about the top 10 cars in the major U.S. cities. The first city was Los Angeles. You will notice a different order with the car searches in Houston. Based on searches done, it appears car hunters in Houston prefer domestic cars. If you're looking to buy a car in Houston, here are the top 10 cars: 1. Chevrolet Houston, 2. Ford Houston, 3. 1. Houston Chevrolet

If you chose Chevrolet Houston, you would have chosen the most searched for car in Houston. Nearly 257,000 people searched for Chevrolet Houston last month. This puts Chevrolet way ahead of the nearest searched for competitor in Houston.

2. Houston Ford

Ford Houston comes in second on the list, with just over 215,000 searches. Ford was the number 5 car in Los Angeles. With Chevrolet Houston and Ford Houston running in the number 1 and 2 spots on the Houston list, it's clear that if you want to be in the in-crowd you'll want to drive a domestic car.

3. Toyota

As mentioned, both Houston Chevrolet and Ford Houston lead Toyota Houston. But if your looking for a Japanese-made automobile in the heartland, that's OK. You've got plenty of company. Just under 170,000 people searched for Toyota Houston last month.

4. Honda Houston

Honda Houston is the second most searched Japanese car in Houston. There were a little more than 145,000 searches for Honda Houston. It trails Toyota in most major cities, but it is still a good solid car.

5. Nissan

Rising in the rankings in Houston is Nissan Houston. 120,000 searches were initiated for Nissan Houston last month. In L.A., Nissan placed ninth.

6. Houston BMW

The first luxury automobile appears 6th on the Top 10 List: BMW Houston. Fewer than 110,000 people searched for BMW Houston. More than double this number searched for BMWs in L.A.

7. Dodge

Dodge Los Angeles occupied the bottom spot on the Top 10 Los Angeles Car List. So Dodge Houston is up three spots with 92,000 searches. Dodge Houston is also the third U.S. automaker no the Houston list. There is one more American car on this list. (See number 10.)

8. Mercedes Benz Houston

The second luxury car on the Top 10 List was searched for about 82,000 times. There are enough people with money in Houston to put Mercedes Benz Houston in the Top 10.

9. Lexus

Another luxury automobile in the top 10. Lexus Houston received 68,000 searches. People who search Lexus like luxury but not the high prices of BMW or Mercedes Benz.

10. Houston Cadillac

The American luxury automobile comes in at number 10. Approximately 61,000 people performed searches for Cadillac Houston.

Use this Top 10 List to figure out what cars people prefer in Houston. Often the majority knows what's best. But if you don't want to be one of the crowd, look to one of the lower ranking vehicles.
