Once Youre Sure Grab Your Packages And Go!
by Greg Hansward, Gre
One of the biggest concerns in any hosts life is making a good first impression; having an excellent floor for folks to walk in on will always score you positive points in the impression category. Forgetting the spaghetti on the walls or the broken bulbs in your kitchen lamp, having a nice floor will keep your guests eyes fully transfixed on the ground that they walk in on as they pass through your kitchen area. If your floor is looking shabby though you may wish to consider a quick update so that you can impress your guests again.

Go Global; Think Local

One of the biggest considerations you need to make is how this renovation will be done; putting new shabby tops on old shabby floor will just make you look like the local jest. You have got to send that old floor packing and this means a period of adjustment. Laying out a new sub-floor over the old one may work in some instance but there is the chance that the weaknesses in your old floor will allow the new one to sink inside of it and that is something that you definitely don't want.

One of the easiest ways to get things rolling is to pick up everything that's not screwed down. Your oven may be a problem as it may be screwed into the floor. However having everything out of your way is a sure fire way for you to be able to get your old floor up and out and your new floor back in and looking grand.

Once You're Sure, Grab Your Packages and Go!

If you are equipped with the proper tools you should be alright. If you need to order these tools online or from the store, this can be the last piece of the puzzle that will package your remodeling dreams into reality. Rip out the old floor and make sure the floor is ready before you set anything down. Remove all the final glue and other vinyl that are left and put that sub floor in its place. As long as you're careful making sure that everything is left in a smart fit, you should be okay. You should be mindful of your particular areas humidity as a humid climate's humid floor needs somewhere to go.

Once you've allotted the sub floor you shouldn't go treading allover it too quickly; you should remove any and all debris so there's no interference. Spread your glue out evenly and make sure any peaks and valleys are tamped down. Make sure everything's dried up and then move all your equipment back into place and you're good to go!
