Getting the full spectrum of vitamins and minerals as an important part of health is something that has been known about for a long time. Every now and then it is good to take a closer look at some of the specific vitamins our body needs, so we can understand the health benefits they give us. To start off, b6 is a very important vitamin for all of us to have. Its part of the 8 water soluble vitamins that make up the complete b vitamin. At one time B was thought of as a singular vitamin like A or C, but it was discovered that there were slightly different chemical make ups in each of the 8 B nutrients, and that each carried out different process when is comes your various cells metabolisms.

If you look around the web or in your scientific journals you will find very detailed and technical explanations of what b6 is composed of and how it interacts within your cells. This is meant as a simple overview, so please forgive the basic information, but if you boil down the jargon, you will find that b6 vitamin essentially aids the differing enzymes to do their jobs in your cells. Kind of like a supervisor that keeps everything moving along smoothly or a middle man that helps connect the transfer of goods between buyers and sellers.

More importantly to know for us non-science types is what its health benefits are. For instance, b6 vitamin supplements have been known to increase the vividness of dreams as well as make them easier to remember when you wake up.

On a more practical note, it is also used in a preventative care nature. Vitamin b6 supplements have show in some studies to reduce a persons chance of getting Parkinson's disease by as much as 50 percent. In case of autism, b 6 supplements have been used as a natural supplement to reduce symptoms.

It is also common for people to take b6 to help lesson the effects of a hangover the day after a long night of partying or even to reduce morning sickness in the early months of pregnancy.

In terms of the type of b 6 supplement to use, liquid vitamin b6 supplements are the most encouraged because of the bodies ability to absorb a liquid vitamin so much more easily and efficiently than a hard pill. If all you have is pill form, then it is at least better than nothing. Unfortunately, a good deal of the benefits of hard vitamins are flushed through the system before the body has a chance to break them down and absorb them.

Vitamin C

Some of the major sources of vitamin C are sweet fruits and citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables. It promotes vitality, vigor and youthfulness and efficiency in work in a person.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. It is essential for growth of bones. It is required for proper absorption and utilization of phosphorus and calcium. The deficiency of the vitamin in children produces, thin and weak bones called rickets. In adults its deficiency produces osteomalasia and caries of teeth. Sunlight is the major source of Vitamin D. It is also found in milk.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is said to be an anti- sterility vitamin. Its deficiency leads to frequent abortions and it is useful for metabolism of fats. It controls catabolism. It prevents diabetes, heart diseases, thrombosis, asthma and bones degeneration. Vitamin E is found in vegetables, sprouted wheat and dried fruits.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K regulates the normal blood clotting and regulates prothrombin level in the body. Its deficiency causes bleeding or hemorrhages in the body. Some of the natural sources of vitamin K are green and fresh leafy vegetables.

Vitamin P

Vitamin P is also called Bioflavonoids. It is necessary for maintenance of blood vessels and normal blood pressure. It is found in vegetables and citrus fruits.
