Our movies and television shows are full of tips and the best way how to gain the life of your dreams. Well, they also have ideas on how to break a marriage, but that's quite another story. Now, the question is, do these ideas, strategies, plans, whatever that the media show really give good advice on how to be happy? Can you use them to save what is left of yours? You will have to seriously do some rethinking here.
What we must realize and accept is that each person's marriage is unique and no solutions can be generically used from one marriage to another. The methods that the Joneses used to save their marriage will not work in saving yours. Think about that, accept it, and stop listening to people who give you free advice on how to start saving YOUR marriage. Act according to what your heart says.
But, even I am going to give you advice on how to save your marriage here. Yes, I am! However, there's a difference. I am not going to coax you into acting on any of this. Use your own brains to see what you can use from here in your marriage. As I said, each marriage is unique and I do respect that.
So, here are my tips.
1.Converse constructively.
The operative word here is 'constructively'. Mere communication is not going to help your cause any. You have to talk about things that you like to do with each other, things that bother you about each other, and things that you would like to see in each other. Got the point? The crux of your conversation is that you are speaking about the two of you, and that's what counts as meaningful conversation.
2.Build common experiences.
When was the last time the two of you did something enjoyable together? If you can't remember, it's high time you created other common experiences for you. Take up a hobby. Go for morning walks together. Join a language class. Each of these things can help greatly in resuscitating your marriage.
3.Respect each other's life and space.
Do you give your partner space, or do you try to smother him or her with your expectations? Never tell your partner, 'Darling, I want you to do' or 'Dear, I want to see you in'. Such talk is good for those early marriage days, but later they become imposing. Respect your partner for what he or she is, and give them space.
4.Plan a vacation.
A vacation acts as a great tonic for reviving a sagging marriage. Go somewhere where your routine life can't follow you. Go to a place both of you have never seen before. Do not take your work along. When there, do everything that a tourist would. You are discovering a new world together, just like those early marriage days. You cannot even start to imagine how much as shot in the arm this would be for your dwindling marriage.
5.Plan a life.
This is the most important thing. When making future plans, stop think 'I will..' and 'I want to..'. Convert that to 'We will..' and 'We want to..'. Make your plans as a couple. Do not think about life as an individual. Think about what the two of you will do together with the intertwined lives that you have. This is the best things anyone can give you on easy strategies to solve your relationship.
I hope I haven't been too preachy (I would hate that.), but I have really spoken from my heart. Drive something home from this article today. You will surely begin to see the difference.
You may ask are there ways to save a marriage in trouble when only fifty percent of the married couple is willing to work at it. The answer can often be yes.
While it may seem crazy to think that a marriage can be improved through one persons efforts, especially when the other person either has no interest in fixing things or even worse they would like to see the marriage end, it really is not as impossible as you may think.
Why? For one thing, even if there is only one person committing to make good use of the number of ways to save a marriage available, that one person alone already constitutes half the couple. That's a fifty percent share in power, every bit as much as the other spouse has.
Also there is a good chance that the other spouse is caught up in a wide range of emotions. They may not be sure that ending the marriage is the right thing to do or not and will not do anything as a result while the spouse trying to make it work will do everything in their power to win back their loved one.
One thing you have going for you is the history the two of you have. You have those great memories and the fun things you have experienced together.
The odds are probably not nearly as bad as you may think no matter what everyone else would like you to believe.
No matter what the events that are taking place, there will always be ways to repair a marriage in trouble. Whether you are just having some hard times or you are you just about ready to get a divorce you can have some hope as long as one person in that couple keeps on working to fix things up.
One example would be if your spouse does not want to work on things and shies away from things that would help your marriage then you should still keep on pushing forward toward your goal. Or if your other half is slightly open to making some changes for the better then all you would have to do is suggest and try to influence them.
There are plenty of ways to save a marriage even when only one person is working on it. There is one thing you need to remember and that is you need to go about things in the right way. That is where the need for professional information comes into the picture.
Even though your hard work can make things better you will need professional and credible advice. You need to know what ways to save a marriage will work for you. With the right information in your hand there should be no doubt who is coming in to the battle better equipped.
