The problem is when these diet or weight loss programs advertise losing a large amount of weight in a short period of time, they are not talking about losing body fat; they are talking about water weight. They know that most people assume that when they lose weight they are burning fat so they roll with that which is really misleading information.
So in reality, they are not really lying to you but they are only actually telling you half the truth by capitalizing on what most people assume. They will not tell you the truth that you are not losing much fat because they know that you think you are because your bathroom scale goes down.
Let's just clear that up as the first thing you must understand is that fat loss and weight loss is not the same thing. Just because you lose weight does not mean you lose fat. And it is quite possible to lose fat but not lose weight. When most people talk about losing weight, what the really want to do is lose body fat and obtain a more attractive, slim and firm body.
The old fashioned way to do this was to reduce calories and go on a restricted diet. The reason why 95% of all diets failed was because they work against your body not with it. If the calorie level was even a 100 too low for your body it would automatically go into famine mode slowing the metabolism (the rate the body burns fuel) to conserve fuel.
This essentially shuts down fat burning and at some point an increased appetite triggered by the metabolic slowdown forced one to abandon the diet and start eating. And this can mean everything in sight causing more body fat to be piled on totally defeating the purpose of the diet.
In order for fat loss to occur, your body must burn more calories that it takes in, but keep in mind that your body needs fuel for energy and when you exercise vigorously your body needs even more calories. If you try and exercise while not eating enough calories you will make the situation even worse causing your body to find protein and carbohydrates from its own stores (muscle tissue) which will cause a quick metabolic slow down halting any fat loss.
The new way to lose fat makes good sense. Strength training exercise must be at the core of any fat loss program boosting metabolism up to 10% after each training session. This new way focus's on increasing the metabolic rate to be burning more fuel all day every day 24/7 as opposed to just burning calories during the exercise session as we used to do.
The lean muscle that strength training helps you build will firm and tone your body like nothing else out there. No other activity or type of exercise will do this so strength training must be a part of your fat-loss workout routine.
To lose weight (burn fat) properly you must increase your metabolism and your need for oxygen with interval training exercise. To support the exercise program you need to eat enough calories each day with 4-6 small meals spaced throughout the day to give you energy and further speed up the metabolism.
For this method to work it is important to seek the help of a fitness professional to set up your program and teach you correct exercise technique. Your program needs to be performed at the right level of intensity and changed often to continue to get results.
Try this simple formula - strength training, intervals and small meals ? use exercise to build lean body mass and increase energy output supercharging your metabolism. Dieting sucks - embrace the new way which gives you the freedom to eat more and still weigh less.
I can't believe how quickly this year has passed. The holidays are approaching quicker than you can blink and we all know what that means! Food, food and more glorious food. Cocktails and deserts laden with carbs and calories. Plenty of parties and festive neighbors dropping in with a gift basket of cookies. Whilst this is all so fun and irresistable, you still want to be able to fit into that size 8 dress as you attend host gatherings and attend parties. Why do things have to be so difficult. You want to look good whilst also enjoying that christmas cheer. Now is the time to act and shed any extra pounds you've got, so you'll still look great by the time New Year's rolls around.
Integrate all of these methods into your daily diet starting now and you will lose weight. More than likely it will probably mean you will have to adopt habits you're not quite used to, but if it works, why complain. These seven ways to lose weight may even become a new way of healthy eating, which will pay dividends for the rest of your life.
So without any further ado, Here are the top seven ways to lose weight for the festive season:
1. Are you used to eating three square meals a day? Well change those eating habits and start eating five or six small meals. You wont suffer from any hunger pangs and your stomach will shrink, not expecting a large amount of food at any given time. The end result? You'll eat much less over the course of a whole day. Naturally, make sure you choose healthy foods low in fat.
2. Drink a glass of water whilst you are preparing your food. Try dressing it up with a spritz of lemon or lime juice, but make sure you drink it! The water will give your stomach a sensation of being full and will also clean up your kidneys and flush out toxins, giving you glowing skin and enhancing your appearance.
3. Make sure you eat slowly! Whilst it is known that people who eat less as well as eating slowly tend to live longer than those who wolf down huge amounts of food, this third essential component of ways to lose weight quickly will pay off right away. Your aperitif of water will start your digestive system on the right track, while eating slowly will give your stomach a chance to appreciate the amount you've consumed.
4. Eat smaller portions. This may seem like a no-brainer but when you are looking for ways to lose weight, many people try to fool themselves into believing that a huge steak won't hurt. Instead, you are better off savoring every bite of a 4 ounce portion, following rules 1 through 3. You will be pleasantly surprised at how satisfying that small portion can be.
5. Make sure you eat plenty of fiber. The great thing is this means that you can have a huge plate of veggies for one meal. Insoluble fiber requires more calories to be burned than you consume in the process of digestion. This is certainly one of the least painful and most healthy ways to lose weight quickly. Try using some seasonings available at the supermarket to make those veggies something you will actually want to eat!
6. Definitely avoid fatty meats and cholesterol building fried foods. Try making a list of your favorite types of fish and eat plenty of them. Choose lean pork cuts or skinned, broiled chicken, ones that will suit your taste.
7. My last tip on 7 ways to lose weight fast is to EXERCISE. Yes, I know you have heard it before, but it is essential to your weight loss regimen. Even if you can't drag yourself out for a jog around the park why not try something as simple as getting your house ship shape and ready for the holidays. So run that vacuum like you have never before. Apply vigorous elbow grease to ovens, the fridge and bathrooms!
Make sure you paste these guidelines on ways to lose weight quickly up on the fridge, at eye level. You will be looking great for the holidays and you never know, you may actually keep that weight off.
