Cyprus is one of the most beautiful Islands in the whole of the Mediterranean in fact it is more of a country than an Island, self contained with it's own distinct culture and unique lifestyle. The Cypriot people are amongst the friendliest in the world and they always make visitors feel more than welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they love getting to know visitors which explains in part at least why so many people return to Cyprus year after year. With over 300 hours of fabulous Mediterranean sunshine every year they don't need that much encouraging anyway but it all adds up to make it the perfect holiday destination for families and couples alike.
Cyprus does in fact boast (so I am led to believe) the first real beach resort to be developed. The resort area of Limassol on the South west coast was purpose built as a resort and is a booming holiday center to this day. Before that time the main destination was the Troodas mountains with it's cool climate where the rich and famous would take their holidays in exclusive style. People such as the Onassis family and king Farook where in fact regular visitors to the Island back then.
Now however Cyprus is the perfect holiday destination for anyone looking for sun, sea and culture. There is so much to see and do in Cyprus and no matter how many times you visit the Island you will never run out of places of interest to visit. There is a rich cultural heritage stretching back thousands of years and it is evident in the large number of historical sites on the Island. Everything from Greek mythology to the Roman occupation is in strong evidence and you can book loads of informative tours or excursions to learn all about it.
Then again you may just want to lounge by the pool and relax with a long cool drink in the warm Cyprus sun. If that's the case then a Cyprus villa holiday is just what you are looking for. They are a great way to combine all the comforts of a luxury villa with the independence to do what you want when you want. No more queuing for breakfast or rushing back for dinner when you take a relaxing Cyprus villa holiday. Get up in the morning when you are good and ready and come back to the house when you want. Swim in your own private pool any time of the day (or night) that you like without any silly rules or restrictions to worry about either.
A Cyprus villa holiday also makes a great place from which to explore the rest of the Island too and the best way to do this is with a hire car. The cost of hiring a car for your holiday in Cyprus is quite reasonable and you will save a bundle on holiday villa rental if you choose somewhere further inland. That way you have total flexibility at a great price with the resorts and beaches only a short drive away. The money saved on villa rental will more than compensate for the cost of the car hire and you are well away from the bustling resorts if you prefer a peaceful holiday.
So do your home work and shop around for a great deal on your Cyprus villa holiday because there are some great savings to be made online. Many of those beautiful Cyprus holiday villas are privately owned second homes and as such are kept to a very high standard. Bear in mind when you rent such a property that it is someone's home and treat it with respect because they will be far more comfortable than the run of the mill holiday accommodation offered by the bigger companies. Happy holidays and Enjoy Cyprus!
If you are taking your family to Orlando for a vacation then be prepared for a busy time at the parks, although you can always take a break and visit one of the many other interesting attractions. Orlando has many churches, museums, parks, markets and unusual tourist attractions to keep the most determined visitor happy. Everything a visitor could possibly want is here and the reason why people return year after year.
If you enjoy shopping then you will love Orlando, it has plenty of malls and stores like Outdoor World which is so large it contains a 17,000 gallon aquarium and you could spend all day there. Besides the major theme parks, a vacation in Orlando can offer so many attractions to spark the imagination that it's hard to know where to begin.
Central Florida Zoological Park is one of the major reasons to visit as the zoo is home to more than 400 animals that started out as just a collection in the Sanford Fire Department. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.
For anyone that appreciates the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany then a large collection of his works is exhibited the Museum of American Art, where it has been housed since the early 1940's. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893.
Whilst Orlando may appear on the surface to be a town designed for the entertainment of children that could not be farther from the truth with adults equally well looked after. Orlando vacations offer evening entertainment that's no less interesting with family venues such Pirates Adventure, Medieval Feast to more adult themes such as Disney's Downtown Pleasure Island open until the early hours.
If you are more technology and science minded then a trip to the Orlando Science Center will be a must as is a huge complex incorporating 10 halls with exhibitions everything from the Florida Everglades to the plains of Mars. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s, plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car.
If you have seen the Titanic-ship of Dreams film then you will enjoy the exhibition along International Drive that tells the story using large sets and depictions from the ship as a background. Away from all the hustle is the wonderful Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown; it has beautiful sidewalks in over forty acres where it is possible to spend a few peaceful hours.
However, there aren't that many visitors who visit Orlando without a trip to one of the four main Disney theme parks or the equally impressive Universal studios, where a person's age really doesn't matter. Orlando vacations have everything so you won't be short of things to do; in fact you may need a week off to recover in a resort that never shuts and has good weather all year round.
