[W2]Wait For Windows 7
by Martin Brinkmann, Mar
Developers of Windows 7 claim that the next Windows Operating System is definitely worth the wait. Microsoft began working with people who use the Windows Operating System at home and in their office to better target consumers' wants and needs.
A beta of Windows 7 was announced to be released by Microsoft in the beginning of 2009 to the general public who then have the opportunity to test the product, report bugs and gain a first impression which will surely influence the decision to buy or not to buy the new operating systme.
Windows 7 concentrates on usability and needed changes to the interface and many of the basic programs that come with Windows. A big goal of Microsoft was to ensure that Windows 7 will run perfectly fine on any computer that is currently able to run Windows Vista.
Programs that worked with Windows Vista will also work with Windows 7, so there will be no need to wait for updates on any software. With more than one billion customers around the world, Microsoft Windows is the most popular software product of today.
Microsoft claims that Windows 7 will be the best software yet, with new and improved capabilities available for every consumer need. Windows 7 will be the seventh operating system released from Microsoft, which has evolved from the original 3.5 Windows system. With improvements continuing through Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, and Vista, this new operating system will bring in exciting change.
The amount of new features that will be made available in Windows 7 is not huge at this point. Microsoft has made a few announcements like integrated touch support or new interfaces for the taskbar or desktop but nothing that would be considered a "killer" application or feature.
Developers hope to release Windows 7 for Beta testing in mid December. After consumers and programmers test the reliability and stability of the Operating System, Microsoft plans to release the software for the general public.
Windows 7 is receiving positive press feedback currently and Microsoft is doing a good job at feeding the press a few bits every now and then. The beta test will be the first time when Windows 7 has to prove itself to the masses.
