Unlike fruit gift baskets, wine and cheese gift baskets are not the sort of gift you can give in spite of the occasion. There are certain occasions when they would not be appropriate to give. For example, you would not give one at a kids birthday party or to someone you do not know very well. Because what if the recipient is a recovering alcoholic? If this were the case, then one of these gift baskets could not be more inappropriate.
On the other hand, wine and cheese gift baskets are very appropriate for some special occasions. For instance a house warming gift for a couple you know who has just bought a new home. In this case, wine and cheese would be a very nice way to celebrate their new home.
These gift baskets are also wonderful for dinner parties. Why show up with a bottle of wine? Everyone does that. Make your host remember you by bringing a great gift basket of wine and cheese. This will surely put you at the top of the list for the next party.
Wedding anniversaries is another occasion where wine and cheese gift baskets are most appropriate to give. Couples will surely want to spend an intimate evening together on their anniversary. If it were your wedding anniversary, which would you prefer? A dinner party with lots of other people or a quite night with just you and your spouse? Maybe you would like a nice dinner and a movie and then some time alone to enjoy your special time together over some wine and cheese.
These baskets make nice wedding gifts, too. However, make sure you know how long the newlywed couple will be away on their honeymoon and what the shelf life of the cheese is before giving this kind of gift. Remember, your gift will not be opened until the couple returns home.
Husbands, when was the last time you were in the dog house? You can send your wife flowers to say you are sorry, but flowers get repetitive and old. This is especially true if you are one of those guys who can not stay out of trouble. Sure, your wife can look at the flowers for a few days, but that has very little to do with you. Give her one of those wine and cheese gift baskets instead to say you are sorry. She might just share it with you to say she forgives you. Then she has a great basket to remind her of your thoughtfulness the next time you are in trouble.
Better yet, do not wait until you are in trouble to give your wife a gift. She may let the next bad thing you do slide if you shower her with one of these gift baskets every so often. As a wife, getting gifts without occasion is one of the most romantic things you can do for her. Think about it. Keep the wife happy and you will be happier, too.
My husband and I have been exchanging gifts with some of our neighbors and discovered that wine and cheese gift baskets make a perfect. They are perfect for those people that are difficult to buy for. They can be purchased at many retail stores, or they can be assembled yourself, allowing you to personalize the gift. Making your own selections for the gift basket can be really fun. The pre-made cheese gift baskets included processed cheese spreads. We were concerned about how long some of the baskets had been sitting around. We thought that if we made our own baskets the cheese would be of higher quality and we could choose varieties that we knew our friends liked. It is easy to find attractive baskets for the personalized wine and cheese basket. They can be found at many craft or import stores at reasonable prices. Find an inexpensive cheese cutter to place in the basket as well. You can purchase your cheese selection at any quality deli. Since the meat departments only wrap their products in unattractive paper you can wrap the cheese in plastic wrap. During the holidays it is easy to find holiday design plastic wrap. Next, select the wine to be included. Boxes of specialty crackers are all that is really needed to finish this off. Once you have all the items assembled, place some shredded paper in the bottom of the basket. This serves as perfect filler. We brought our purchases home and cut and wrapped the cheeses. I placed the filler in the bottom of each basket then arranged the cheeses, cutters and crackers in each. I used several strands of the curling ribbon and tied the strands to the handles. The wine and cheese gift baskets looked very nice and we knew that the cheese was high quality and fresh. Wine and cheese gift baskets make a lovely gift for anybody. The recipients can use them when entertaining during the holiday season or save them for their own use. You can either pick up of the ready made baskets or get creative and assemble your own. If you make your own you can pre-wrap the cheese and just assemble them right before you give the gift. This makes storage easier. Whether you buy one of the pre-made wine and cheese baskets or assemble your own, it will be a gift that is loved by the recipient.
