My name is Agatha Gimeli and I am excited to say that I finally am believing in the American Dream again. As you can probably figure from my name, I am Italian. Actually I was born in Sicily, Italy. Being a foreign from a poorer country, we were taught to work hard I mean really hard. So for half my adult life that is what I did. I started selling Insurance door to door and If anyone knows that business, were talking long hours. But I still did it and I actually loved it. Your pretty much your own boss and have your own hours. T
he downfall is that you have to work very long hours, especially at first in order to make a decent paycheck. My husband and I met with the company and became "partners in crime". But as the years yet by the hours didn't get shorter, the pressure still didn't lessen, the stress of managing a large team was exceedingly high. I got pregnant and of course I decided that after all the years (18) of hard work, I should be able to stay at home. I did, but the bills piled up and my husband could not work any harder.
Although he continued to increase his pay each year, it seemed like he got more and more stressed as the years went on. I decided I should start bringing in some money. I tried to go back into the insurance sales but I have to admit I truly no longer had the desire to work that hard for the rest of my life, without a real satisfaction of being able to afford the luxuries of life. We were working that hard to afford just a little more than the normal. It really was not worth it. That is when I decided "hey if they can dot it so can I" I started my own web site
And I am telling you that is exciting. I'm learning so much and with everyday that I achieve a goal, I get closer to making more and more money. I can't wait to learn what THEY do.And you know what, it wans't as difficult as I thought. Through my PIP http://www.pluinprofitsite.com/24876 I learned it all. There really is a lot to learn, but all I think about is how wonderful it would be to be able to really afford the nicer things of life and actually be able to enjoy them.
Maybe even be able to travel the world and still be able to make a living from anywhere in the world. Life is too short to not really give it a whole hearted effort. One thing that I do know is that I don't want to work 16 hour days my whole life to find myself old and sick. I want to work out of my home, out of the beach, out from an ocean front home. Maybe it's a big dream but I won't know unless I try. I feel confident that I too, will be living the AMERICAN DREAM.
Working from home is an option of choice for those who want to achieve their career goals while being at home. One major aspect of it is the flexibility it offers to your working speed. Today, more and more corporations and employers are contemplating it for its cost reduction potential and of course, there is always the outsourcing trend which has its say in decision making.
A Word of Advice
The ultimate attraction to work from home is the freedom and ability to work from the comforts of your home and still being able to have a good lifestyle. However, those considering this option should evaluate whether it is the office monotony or some other compulsion which has brought them to the threshold. Working from home may appear all too rosy but it is not without its share of impediments. Motivating yourself is one big challenge; probably bigger than having to deal with colleagues and bosses in office, if you forget the domestic chores which often distract and spoil concentration. Another critical issue to consider ahead of choosing to work from home is self-discipline which you can check back from past experiences to evaluate whether you are strong there.
Although working form home is not a new concept, not many are aware of the changes it can bring about in your lifestyles which many have found as disrupting their familial relationships.
Obviously, rewards for working from home include fringe benefits like not having to commute to office, ability to tend children without having to ask for permission in addition to being your own boss, leverage tax advantages and have better control over your personal lives. However, many others, who have business instincts, perceive this as a stepping stone for creating a larger business.
Preparing and Choosing Your Work from Home Business
For women, natural choices such as tailoring, childcare, catering etc still hold the same promise as they did. Unlike earlier, appropriate licenses are required as they are connected to public safety and health. Preparation to work from home requires investments on infrastructure, safety, communication and legal compliances. For instance, the downside to childcare or catering work are the need for sufficiently large setups, such as a house with a finished basement or cooking and serving paraphernalia in case you are to make a decent income.
Your preparation to work from home involves a lot of, what is known as, back office work such as doing market research, analyzing your competition and factors that determine the price for your type of work. Although this may not apply to those telecommuting employees, you will find the competition hard to crack without any knowledge of these aspects. Finally, you may need to designate a space at home for your work; a separate room dedicated for your work would be better.
For those with excellent writing, editing skills, writing or editing work is the first choice. Medical transcription is another topnotch choice for typists having knowledge of medical terminologies and trained specifically for transcription. Initially, you can expect your workload to be on par with the workload for day job employees depending on your marketing skills, past experience and ability to meet deadlines amongst other aspects. If you are diligent, you can grow your work from home business into a large business.
Although not rampant, day-in and day-out, we keep hearing about work from home scams which are basically in the internet arena. You should exercise much care in choosing your work. Secondly, no matter whether you are working as a freelancer or a telecommuting employee, it is prudent to have an agreement with clients/employers that details the terms and conditions.
