[Z1]Zach Braff Scrubs Season 9
by Groshan Fabiola, Gro
The seventh and final season of Scrubs will start shooting in August, thus the cast and crew have a lot of time to just relax and unwind. Take into consideration Zach Braff who recently flew to central Pennsylvania to attend a family related event. Apparently, his cousin, Emily Watson, called in to request his presence in her restaurant, Glass Lounge, for an important event.

Glass Lounge is a popular stakehouse in Harrisburg that has been in the possession of the Braffs since 1985. Last Sunday, a fundraiser was held at the said venue. The fundraiser's objective was to raise awareness about autism. Watson's four year old daughter, Megan, was diagnosed with the brain development disorder last year.

Together with her husband Sean, Emily decided to hold the fundraiser in the spirit of gratitude to the agencies that helped take care of Megan.

"The support is absolutely there and I think what we're learning is everybody somewhere, somehow has some connection to autism whether it be a brother, sister, cousin, niece, nephew whatever it is there's some connection so if there's anyway we can help bring awareness -- we're happy to do that," Watson said.

Zach Braff, who plays JD in Scrubs, said that he attended the fundraiser in support of his relatives.

"[Autism] has impacted my family? when Emily's daughter was diagnosed with autism we all felt it and we all wanted to learn more about it and what we could do to help her," said the Scrubs star.

The 32 year old actor was born and raised in New Jersey, and while growing up, his greatest influence was his aunt, Susan Sayers. He is very close to his family, unlike the lead character in his film, Garden State.

In talking about Sayers, Braff said, "She's a tremendously strong, loving woman. She's funny and happy and she loves the arts and film. She's been a great inspiration in my life."
