Should you want to just some time in quiet contemplation and enjoy a pleasant stroll then take a visit to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Here you will find over 500 acres of some of the most breathtaking scenery you are likely to see anywhere in England today. Plus why not spend some time in the rose and rare flower gardens as well.

If however you want to learn more about the history of Chester then a walk round its city walls is perfect. As you walk along the two miles of walls, surrounding the city, you will be offered some great views of it down below. Plus during this walk, you will get a much better insight into this city's long and varied history.

One of the final Chester attractions, which should not be missed during your visit to the city especially with children, is Chester Zoo. This is the largest of all the zoo's to be found in the UK today and has the largest colony of chimpanzee's that is to be found in Europe. Plus there are another 7,000 animals that you and your children will want to see so you may need to spend a whole day exploring the zoo to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

There is plenty of accommodation available in and around Chester. Whether you want to stay inside the historic city walls, further out in town or in a nearby village, there's a wealth of accommodation that you can choose from.
