by Jessica Thomson, Jes
What is your opinion over having a good security system than getting into a terrible situation like getting locked inside the house, cars or in the office and risking your precious life or that of your loved ones? Who wants to be in such a situation? I guess no one does. Hence it is always better to take precautions than to suffer later. Thus doing all the minor responsibilities like repairing the doors when damaged, checking the lock systems, and keeping an extra key should be checked and performed regularly.

The doors and the windows need regular repairing with the changing temperature, climate and season. With time and the temperature changes, these doors of the house also shift up and down. For instance, during the rainy season the doors enlarge and thus become difficult to shut down or even open up. This also affects the latches, or the padlock matches with its hole in the doorframe. Thus repairing the doors becomes important as, if not locked it may even attract the thieves to come and steal the entire house. Also is necessary if you have kids in the house as they might get locked in the rooms or even get injured due to the improper locking system.

Another crucial way to avoid such mishaps from occurring in your house is to follow certain important safety tips. Some of the simple safety precautionary steps that can be followed have been described in brief just for your and your family's safety.

1Don't delay the repairing of the damaged doors of the house. Always make sure that they are mended as soon as possible.

2Take the help of the carpenters or the locksmiths to repair the broken or choked locks of the doors.

3Teach your children the crucial steps to use and lock the doors properly. Explain them the danger of getting locked inside or outside the house.

4Don't let the kids play with the doors as they might get injured or even locked.

5In case of automatic doors, don't be negligible in keeping the remote control properly. Treat it as an important key.

6Keep the keys out of reach of the kids and teach them to operate the remote control for the doors properly.

7Every alternate month get all the doors of the house including the garage door checked properly for faults or damages.

8Keep extra keys safely with you in case of emergency.

9Finally, always save the emergency locksmiths service number in all major and minor cases.

Thus, now hopefully you will take extra precautions and avoid risking the life of all you loved ones. So don't waste time anymore and get all the doors checked thoroughly.

When it comes to door repair the first thing to be noted is the task challenging or is it menial. This depends on the magnitude of the damage to the door. Moreover the doors can be wooden and metallic too. Nowadays prefabricated doors of high density polymer plastic are also available
Repair with reference to wooden doors:
A wooden door can be damage because of
1humidity and moisture in the air
2a burglar breaking in the house
3termites eating it away from within
4age
In humid conditions the wooden door gets jammed up and makes a shrieking sound every time it opens and closes. This does not require a lot of effort and is because of the basic nature of wood. The lower edge of the wooden door drags with the floor. It is because of this that the door cannot be closed or opened easily. Sometimes the latch makes an irritating sound. You can get rid of this by lubrication. The squeaky sound can also be generated because the hinges have become rusty and need a bit of lubrication too. If the hinges are too old then it is better to replace them. For this purpose you will need the tools of the carpenter such as the hammer, screwdriver, the screws and pins. First the screws between the hinges and the wall have to be removed. The next step is to dislodge the door from its present position and keeping it aside. Now remove the screws and the pins that hold the hinge to the door. Once you have removed the rusted and outdated hinges, screw up new hinges to the door with the help of the screwdriver and the hammer. Lift the door, place it beside the frame and screw up the remaining half of the hinge to the frame.
Repair with reference to metallic doors: Moisture and humidity are the worst enemies of metallic doors. The process of rusting accelerates as the upper resistant coating gets worn out. Once rusting sets in the only option left with the denizen is to either replace it or apply a fresh coat of paint on it. Sometimes the extent of damage can be more and such that it can be repaired only be welding. For this the door will have to removed from the hinges and taken to the fabricator or the fabricator along with the welding machine has to be brought to the site of repair.
Broken Locks: Sometimes when burglars break in the house or shop the latch which holds the locks undergoes considerable damage. Either the door has to be replaced or a new latch has to be installed at a new location on the door. One can avail the services of a locksmith if needed.
Services of locksmith in London or locksmith in Manchester or locksmith in Birmingham also
cover services.
