[W1065]Writing A Marketing Plan
by Danny Austin, Dan
? Your company's latest financial reports (profit
and loss, operating budgets and so on) and latest
sales figures by product and region for the
current and the past three years or, if less, for
however long you've been in business.

? A listing of each product or service in the
current line, along with target markets

? An organization table (If you can count your
employees on one hand, you can probably omit this.)

? Your understanding of your marketplace: your
competitors, geographical boundaries, types of
customers you sell to, existing distribution
channels, latest and most useful demographic data,
any information on trends in your markets (both
demographic and product-related)

? Ask each of your salespeople and/or customer-
relations people to list the most crucial points,
in their opinion, that need to be included in the
coming year's marketing plan. You don't have to
include all of them, but you do have to take them
into account.

With the implementation of brand new companies in the world today also comes many new products or services that could greatly impact people. In today's business world, there is so much fierce competition and an enormous desire to be the best that it creates an essential need for businesses to struggle with other companies. The fight to be the best has become one of the biggest parts of owning a business in the world today.

When basically watching and listening to the various forms of media in today's society, people are able to detect how fierce the competition has become between different business and corporations. The media has become the official battlefield for many businesses and the use of certain marketing techniques is the main weapon that many companies use to compete. Marketing campaigns have become a major part and focus for companies who are seeking to be the very best in their specific field.

Most of the successful companies in the world dedicate a lot of money and also work hours into creating and maintaining a creative marketing strategy that will attract a large amount of customers or clients. If businesses can develop a smart and unique way of advertising, then they will more than likely increase their number of customers and therefore increase the business' profitability and growth.

For companies to grown and become very profitable, entrepreneurs should organize and implement some sort of plan that will promote the company's services or products to the most amount of people possible. This particular marketing plan will greatly increase the effectiveness of not only the company's advertising campaign but also the company as a whole. It will also help the company improve its competitiveness when battling with other businesses.

As with plans of all different types, the marketing plan must be specific and prepared in an organized manner. There is quite a bit of information that should be included so that every person that is involved will be able to easily understand its goals. The careful planning and preparation of a marketing plan holds a direct correlation to the success of the company.

Any successful marketing plan also decides what kind of people it wants to have for customers and tells why it is important to have these customers. Details on how these customers will become attracted to the products or services should be included within the plan, as well as how these specific marketing strategies will help keep and maintain the loyalty of existing customers. Customers are the number one priority within a company, and how the company will attract customers is the number one priority within the marketing plan.

A well-organized plan first starts off by providing people with the company's big picture, and then breaks down into details about how it will realistically achieve such goals and objectives. Most business owners should set a budget for marketing objectives and then provide different ways that the plan will be implemented. Another smart technique to use in a marketing plan is to delegate responsibilities to specific people within the company.
