Wedding invitations can be ordered in several different ways. You can order your invitations online or in a stationery shop. You can also find a company that customizes your invitations based on your theme and style of your wedding. Choosing the perfect wedding invitation can be a daunting task. Making sure that the invitation wording is correct is essential. Many brides have had to reorder their wedding invitations because they made a mistake when entering their information during the ordering process.

Choosing your invitations

12 months before your wedding day

I like to have my brides order their invitations on the internet. There are several advantages to ordering online. The biggest is that you have the ability to preview your invitations with your customized text before you place your order. As soon as you have reserved your wedding date and location send your save-the-date announcements.

Ordering your wedding invitations

Six months before wedding day

Spend the money to order a sample, many times I have found that brides base their opinion on the picture from the internet. The images on a website do not tell you the thickness of paper or the color of the invitation details. Don’t forget to order the thank you cards, wedding programs, reception and response cards.

Tip: Be careful when choosing your font, not all fancy script is easy to read.

Order a proof of the invitation.

This can delay your order for up to a week, but the satisfaction of knowing that you can edit or proof the wording on your invitations is well worth it.

Track your order

Make sure that where you order your invitations that website has the ability to give you a confirmation email and tracking number for your order. You will then get an email with when you invitations ship.

In a time where the existence of gays and lesbians is becoming more and more accepted in general, it is becoming more common for couples to publicly broadcast their love by unions cemented in traditional ceremonies. Gay and lesbian weddings and commitment ceremonies are just as major a deal as heterosexual marriages, and as a result, they deserve the same attention to detail in the arrangements.

There are so many things to think about! Large halls or pleasant outdoor settings must be reserved for the day, banquet menus planned, formal wear selected, the wedding cake picked out, and floral arrangements ordered. Never forget, however, that the first impression your guests will get of your wedding or commitment ceremony will be the invitations you mail.

There are many styles of gay wedding invitations from which to select, or you can elect to design your own, investing it with personal wording or cheeky irony, depending on the mood you hope to create. You can select invitations in any color with a variety of embellishments, but the important thing is that the invitations be of superior quality. Not just any printer will do.

If you want to produce the very finest invitations, the smartest choice is to find a printer who still practices letterpress printing, a style dating back roughly five hundred years. It is a hands on relief printing process not often found today; it is performed almost exclusively by small presses and hobbyists. While some of the plate creation is done by computer these days, the actually printing is still completed by hand, often one sheet at a time. The results are beautiful and well worth the effort of tracking down someone who still offers letterpress.

Letterpress printing creates a noticeable impression that is inimitable. Very elegant and clean, your guests will be able to tell that they are holding something special in their fingers. The obvious quality is perfect for any occasion requiring your best efforts.
