The Time Crunch, No Time For Crunches. The image of the modern women is of a person in motion. The demands of work and family do not seem to leave much time for taking care of yourself, and many women bemoan the fact that they do not have time for a workout. The good news is that establishing a regular fitness routine can help to boost your energy and can motivate your overall productivity and self confidence. The bad news is that there still are not enough hours in the day! One way to tackle the work/workout conundrum is to combine the two. Keeping active while working and regularly participating in a few low key exercises can actually help you to get more accomplished without taking time away from your family.
Keeping Active Part of the problem with many work situations is that work can be repetitive and sedentary. Maintaining good circulation, adequate cardio stimulation and toned muscles can be difficult. No matter what your job situation is like, make sure you take advantage of every opportunity to get up, move around, and stretch muscles that can become cramped and sore. If you have access to a stairway, using them frequently is a great way to keep your blood pumping. While work can become involving, make sure you take quick breaks at least once an hour to move and stretch. Wearing a pedometer while you work can help you to keep track of how many steps you take each day.
Simple Desk-Friendly Exercises Whether you work at home, in an office or almost any place of employment, there are simple exercises that you can do while at work. If you ca not find the time for a full workout, these mini-exercises can at least keep you toned and active.
Waist Toner. While sitting in a chair or standing, place your right hand behind your right hip and twist as far as you can to the right without straining. Hold this position for 5 seconds and turn front. Repeat this five times for the right side, five times to the left side and then alternate both sides for 10 repetitions.
Bicep Curls. Holding a standard water bottle (16 ounces) or a small paperweight in your hand, stretch out your arm in front of your body, palm side up. Gently bring your hand up to touch your shoulder. Repeat five times on each side. Next, do the same exercise, only bring your arm up to the side instead of the front.
Thigh Toner. While sitting, place a full water bottle (cap on!) between your knees. Pull in your abdomen muscles, sit up straight and squeeze the bottle with your legs. Repeat 10 times.
Ab Curls. Cross your arms over your chest and place each hand on the opposite shoulder. Pull in your abdomen muscles while bending your head, neck and shoulders forward. Hold this position for 5 seconds and repeat ten times. Next repeat the exercise, but instead of tightening your abdomen for 5 seconds, contract and release the muscles 5 times while bent forward.
TomTom NV is a leading manufacturer of personal navigation products and services. TomTom products are popular for their ease of use right out of the box. The company has established itself as being relentless when it comes to innovation. TomTom recently released a robust new tool that is highly practical for fleet tracking, TomTom WORK. This article discusses the features of this amazing, innovative fleet tracking software.
Working for you
TomTom WORK is a complete fleet tracking solution. It has three key components: LINK, GO, and WEBFLEET. TomTom LINK is a small unit placed inside all fleet vehicles. Using GPS technology, these units allow users to conveniently track where each vehicle is. Other important data can be sent via GPRS to a central office.
TomTom GO comes in two models, the TomTom GO 710 and the TomTom GO 510. These award-winning units provide individual drivers with a personal navigation system. The GO units can also be used as communication devices so that drivers can coordinate with the main office.
The most important component of the TomTom WORK fleet tracking solution is the WEBFLEET. This is the service component of the WORK solution that is generally utilized in the company's main office. It is discussed further in the next section.
TomTom WEBFLEET
The TomTom WEBFLEET component is a market-leading, web-based fleet tracking service. It is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via a computer with Internet connection.
WEBFLEET is highly interactive. Using up-to-date maps, users can see the exact locations of all their vehicles on one screen. Users have a choice of two different sets of maps. They can use TomTom WEBFLEET maps, which are updated by the TomTom community. Users can also use satellite maps, which show street level details. By knowing where their fleet vehicles are in real time, companies can allocate their jobs more efficiently. The TomTom WEBFLEET fleet tracking application even shows up-to-date traffic details, so companies can plan ahead and find ways to avoid traffic pileups.
The WEBFLEET fleet tracking software features a highly intuitive user interface. Tasks have been grouped together for easy access. Users can conveniently interact with map screens via drag-and-drop or by using the mouse to zoom in and out.
TomTom WORK success
TomTom WORK has seen widespread success since its release in mid-2008. The fleet tracking solution has allowed TomTom to forge a number of new business partnerships. Scotia Gas Network (SGN), for example, a UK-based gas distribution company, has awarded TomTom with a contract to supply fleet tracking solution for 1,500 vehicles operated by SGN. Each vehicle will be fitted with a TomTom LINK vehicle tracking device and a GO satellite navigation screen.
NationLink wireless, a company that provides full-service wireless solutions is another company that has wisely decided to partner with TomTom. NationLink feels that, with TomTom WORK, they will have more options to offer their clients. NationLink plans to offer combined solutions that include in-vehicle navigation, fleet tracking and office-to-field communication.
