One vision one world is a song now used by many network marketing / mlm companies at events around the world. It creates an atmosphere of happiness and hope whenever and wherever it is played. I want to explore what this song title means to me as a UK citizen looking to improve myself and improve the lives of those around me.
One vision one world. For me one vision is to improve myself to be the very best that I can be. You see if we all took responsabilty for ourselves, not selfish but looking after self, then what a huge difference that would make. With this self awareness we are able to truly work effectively towards personal goals, community goals, country goals and global goals. I feel that if I raise my personal levels to be a better person it makes me better equipped to positively affect people around me. It will not happen overnight but by starting the process of personal development I Know I can really start to make a difference. I also feel that devoting myself to understanding others has helped me greatly to be a positive influence. With a real understanding of others the word BLAME seems to disappear. So with less energy going into blaming people for their wrong doing but seeking to understand the deep roots of why they acted a certain way I am less likely to react aggressively creating a lose-lose situation.
For me this has transformed relationships that were difficult to manage and my world has really started to become a much happier place.Would you work on yourself towards a world like that?
I went out for a drink a few months ago and 3 people at the bar were before me. I made sure that every one of them was served first even though I caught the barman's eye first each time. The last man thanked me and remarked that you don't get many people do that anymore to which my reply was "if we all did those little things what a different place it would be". He agreed and I think we both felt good about our little encounter.
Now letting someone get served before me will not change the world but if we all made a start in some small way to improve ourtselves and our understanding of others then that would, wouldn't it?
My vision for my world is to improve myself, express myself honestly, understand others and contribute in some small way to a better place for my children to live.
