Yes It Exists, The Male Menopause
by Groshan Fabiola, Gro
The term of menopause is very widely spread in our society, but is in most often times, if not always, associated with the female process, through witch they go and after and after witch certain actions of the body stop. Not many of us know that actually men go through menopause to, only in this case it is known as Andropause. As in women this actions starts due to the hormone level that drops. Because of this certain functions of the body stop happening bringing upon the men some side effects: sexual regression, low testosterone levels. As in women it usually starts after the age of 40.

The biological difference in men and women menopause is not that grate. Symptoms may appear to be similar in both cases because of the levels of male and female hormones that drop. Osteoporosis is the biggest threat in both cases of hormone loss. As estrogen was for women so is testosterone for men helping us greatly against certain problems like heart attack and osteoporosis.

The loss of physical activity and energy is maybe the first sign that a person is aging. A more particular fact in men is also the loss of sexual drive, quite a frustrating problem some times. The fear of impotence has a grate effect on men, and when, because of hormone drop, the man fails to present an erection , thing start to get stressful. The same is in women but their desires don't drop until the levels of estrogen have decreased a lot from normal. The case is more acute if the ovaries are completely removed. Maybe the worse effect, the lack of testosterone in men can have, is the loss of interest. And by this loss of interest is done at higher levels: loss of sexual appetite, of business and even sports.

It has been proven through thorough studies that the lack of the male hormone testosterone in men has quite a profound effect. Negative influences could be seen in men: mood swings, loss of normal mental abilities, poor memory action and maybe the most important the loss of youthful sexual function. Sexual aging has been proven to lid to organic impotence: erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory problems and decrease sexual drive.

Testosterone has been proven to be a very important factor in the normal life of a man. Gradual decrease of levels in the blood don't have a serious impact on men. Natural signs of aging: beer belly, aging in the face, muscular weakness and in some cases bone tissue weakening. Very low levels of this hormone can have serious health problems on aging men. If complications do appear consulting the doctor would be the best thing to do.
