Micronesia
by Psmith, Psm
There are over two thousand small islands that make up the country that spans over three million square miles to make up the group known as Micronesia. Each different island has it's own flair, it's own personality, and you will love each one when you come to visit on vacation. Some of the best known islands are: Palau, Guam, and the Marshalls.

One of the best places to begin any journey in Micronesia is on the island of Kosrae, at the Kosrae Village Resort. Located on one of the crown jewels of Micronesia, this 5-star resort is located on a stretch of pristine beaches that are perfect for diving and snorkeling. This resort combines the beauty of the natural rainforest and sea life along with the rest and relaxation of a 5-star resort. Here, you can enjoy watching the seals play in and on the coral reefs that surround the island. And, if you feel like getting wet, you can dive right along side them. There are plenty of dive shops around the resort and the island who can help you prepare for a dive along the reef or give you lessons if you are just beginning. Or you can try your surfing skills on the waves that wash ashore.

With the natural beauty of both the plants and animals surrounding you, birdwatching is a great way to enjoy nature and relax. You can also explore the island around your bungalow and find breathtaking waterfalls that roar towards the ocean, hike the rainforest paths, or take a tour into the mountains. There is so much to see and do while you stay at the Kosrae Village Resort, that you might not know what to do first!

The rooms and suites at the Kosrae Village Resort are wonderfully traditional Micronesian bungalows and are situated in some of the most beautiful lush gardens, surrounded by coconut trees. Right on the edge of the water, you only have to take a few steps to enjoy the warmth of the ocean waves. In keeping with the Micronesian style, each bungalow is connected with paths of packed sand and are lit by torches placed right beside the paths.

The resort also has a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy all of the local cuisine and some international dishes to keep you fueled up for exploring the island paradise around you. With some of the top Micronesian chefs creating mouth watering dishes for guests every night to enjoy as they watch the traditional Micronesian show, you can't help but feel as if you are truly part of the culture.

Among these bungalows is the natural beauty of Micronesia's flowers and trees. With the smells of the flowers and the sounds of the native animals, you will feel like true Micronesian royalty while you relax your days away in this island paradise. It doesn't matter where you are from or where you want to go, spending your vacation at the Kosrae Village Resort is truly a great way to get away from everything and relax, knowing that you are in the best hands!
