Immature Carelessness Leading To Traffic Woes
by Tapan, Tap
With number of accident that occurs on Indian roads on daily basis, lives of people who are regular road users is under great danger to say the least. The resources available which include roads in sufficient width, sufficient number of traffic police personnel and patrol cars to name the few may be less then what is actually needed in the current scenario. Though the lack of above stated resources is generally considered the chief cause behind the problems pertaining to there are other reasons too that hampers the road safety in India like restlessness, lack of proper driving skills, lack of civic sense and immaturity on the part of drivers.

The immature and restless driving being prevalent in all parts of India leads to significant number of accidents and road rage incidents in different parts of the country whether the culprits belongs to northern Delhi traffic or the southern Chennai traffic. For instance, when it comes to wearing helmet or fastening seat belts in cars people are just too shy to do so while driving on the local streets, I don't know why. And when they are about to reach main roads suddenly they become traffic rule abiders and waste no time in fastening their seat belts. But while doing so don't forget that they are driving as well, so a little back and fro movement of their steering may lead to some unwanted fatality on the road. The immature culprits here often forget to realize how offensive their little stupid behavior is for other commuters so much so that it can even cost their lives.

A small change in our thinking can go a long way in improving . If we behave maturely and realize the fact that each road user has equal right to use the road and we are not the king of the road, we can play our part in eliminating road rage in India. Driving while drunk is another common cause of road rage. Mumbai, the night city is more prone to road rage then others as people there feel a different high by driving at night no matter if they are tight (drunk) or not. This is one of the main and perhaps only problems of Mumbai traffic as otherwise the quality of roads is better and most people are civilized enough to follow traffic rules during the day time.

But when he talk of the quality of road surface Bangalore is the worst hit. Bangalore traffic users are not only use to bumpy rides but also snail ridings, thanks to narrow roads constituted by large number of pit holes to add to woes of the commuters. It is high time that Traffic authorities in India should pull up their socks to facilitate proper maintenance of such bumpy and under developed roads. Pit holes also becomes breading home for mosquitoes during rainy seasons which subsequently leads to diseases like malaria and dengue which too are responsible for many deaths as is lack of road safety in India.
