This strategy involves finding an information product that you can sell, and selling it to a target market.

The first thing you need, therefore, is a product. There are basically three ways you can go here. You can either buy a product that comes with resale rights, buy a private label rights product and either sell it as is, or make changes to and improve the product, or you can create an entirely new product (which will probably generate you the most profits).

Then you need to price the product and create a simple sales page. It's beyond the scope of this article to explain how to price your product, and create a highly-converting sales page, but there's plenty of free material available on the internet that covers these topics.

Once you have your product, the next thing you should do is to create a free report that is essentially a mini-version and teaser product for the main product that you are selling. In other words, this free report should have only one objective - to encourage readers to go on and purchase the main product.

For example, say your main product was a comprehensive guide to forex trading. Your free report, therefore, could be '10 Common Mistakes That Forex Traders Make', for example, which would only cover a very small part of your overall product, so you're not giving too much away. Within this report and at the end of the report, you could sell the benefits of purchasing your main product, and include prominent links to your sales page.

The next step is to create an opt-in page where this free report can be downloaded in exchange for the visitors' name and email address. This will allow you to follow-up with your subscribers via email and continue to push your product and it's benefits, even after they've read your report (in case they haven't yet taken the desired action of buying your main product).

Then it's simply a case of driving as much traffic as you possibly can to this opt-in page, where the automated sales process begins.

The best ways are through writing articles and submitting them to various article directories and related ezines, posting on relevant forums (that allow sig files), advertising on Google Adwords and other pay per click search engines, and through various methods of social networking. You could also create a blog linking to and promoting your main product to help with search engine optimization.

There are numerous ways of making money online, and this is just one of the methods that I have used in the past, but it is highly effective. The great thing about this method is that it works in so many niches, so you can simply move from niche to niche and keep on creating additional profitable information products.

Once you become good at creating your own products you can move on to the next level, and start using the power of affiliates and joint venture partners to generate additional sales, and increase your profits dramatically.
