Basically a transvestite goes through life in turmoil until the day arrives and they accept who they are. Relationships can be very hard for transvestites, they fear losing their partner by being honest, often this secret causes the relationship to fracture as honesty in a relationship is very important. Transvestites who are open with their partner often find real happiness. For all transvestites it is important to feel accepted.

The need to feel accepted is often demonstrated by the amount of photo's that transvestites take of themselves. This is a reflection of their true identity, the person they want to be accepted as. For some it is the only place they can truly be honest about themselves, and many enjoy the attention they receive.

The way society treats transvestites is positively horrible, it is no surprise that among transvestites there is a high percentage of suicide. What is needed is better education, and support for transvestites.

As a society we need to recognize that we have a duty to all, to support everyone and give guidance to individuals, not to ridicule them. We need to provide a frame work of education and support to children growing up, to help them, and not just abandon them to suffer in doubt and fear.
