Heres What To Add To Your Swing For Dramatic Improvements In Your Golf
by Len Mcgrane, Len
No-one denies that the swing is a fundamental feature of golf and that it has to be done right. But getting stronger and fitter while they also work on a swing is giving many golfers remarkably improved scores.

One of the game's best kept secrets is the powerful result of physical training.

In our game, this means developing the neck, upper body, arms, hips, hamstrings, knees and feet. In other words, the parts that affect how we play and especially how we do the swing. You see, just being generally fit, or fit for a different sport, like long jumping, does not make me fit for the stresses of golf.

Only demanding exercise will prepare those parts of your body for golf. If you are not fit you will find it hard to absorb the physical demands of golf.

In addition, you need to develop overall flexibility and strength. Remember how top players hit the ball. Remember how they effortlessly bring together power and suppleness into a perfect movement. They have worked on being strong and flexible, and you need to copy them.

Having said this, strength is doubly important, as all good golfers have developed their core strength and stability. You need to work on flexibility, but really work on raising your strength.

And you know, you only need hand weights and exercise tubes to get fit for golf. All the essential exercises can be done in your bedroom.

You don't have to make the mistake that some golfers make. They go to the gym, fit into a machine, do some full-on exercises, and think they've done training. This will almost always be a waste of time, or, at best inefficient.

Rather, you have to build those specific parts of your body I listed above.

As you do the right exercises you not only feel like a pro, you score like one.
