Creative Scrapbooking Ideas
by Terry Fitzroy, Ter
There are many different ways to attack your scrapbooking. You might want to sort your scrapbooking pages into categories such as Christmas of 2006 or Joey's 3rd Birthday. You might also put them together by family such as Uncle Joe's family or Grandma's family. Another option is to put your scrapbook pages together by child starting at birth and carrying forward.

When buying supplies for your scrapbooking projects make sure you look outside the box. In other words don't just head on over to your local scrapbooking store. There are plenty of scrapbooking stores online that have more products that usually cost less. These online stores usually have a huge assortment of different store's products and often at discounted prices. They also offer some great ideas for creative scrapbooking.

Here are some simple creative scrapbooking ideas:

1. Be Edgy
Get the full set of scissors so that you can give your pictures neat looking edges.

2. Border It
Use construction paper or buy neat patterned papers to create borders for your photos. Don't be afraid to go bold.

3. Color Code It
If you are working on a theme say Christmas then use plenty of red and green. Valentines day would be more reds and pinks. Also, make sure you are creative about how you use the color. Frame items, make little note pockets, write words in your theme colors using gel pens.

4. You Just Gotta Have A Little Gel
We are talking about gel pens that come in all kinds of great colors and are a perfect way to add bright and visually pleasing comments.

5. Just Stick It
Stickers are a great way to charm and personality to your pages. Don't be afraid to use corny phrases, different pictorial stickers always work great too.

6. Step Outside The Box
Creativity is the ability to think outside the box. Don't just stick with traditional scrapbooking elements and layouts. Instead step outside the box and let your creativity flow. If you're hurting for ideas, there are plenty of great examples to look at online.

7. Chipboard
Create a one-of-a-kind chipboard embellishment. Make a flower perhaps cover it with craft paint for a terrific floral accent. Make chipboard tags to add to my papers or projects. Punch a hole in the top and add a string or ribbon for a very cute little addition to your page. There are all kinds of things you can pull off with your chipboard.

8. Be A Storyteller
Story telling may not have been in your cards before but it is now and your scrapbook needs to tell a story. It needs to have a start a beginning, a middle, and an end. Have some fun with it and let your pictures be the main event.
